Thoughts on Julian?

Julian is a unicorn... I mean what beats that. He’s definitely my second favourite (beneath Zucker). His colour is cute, his clothes are cute and his house is apparently really cool in new horizons especially. I personally can’t wait to get Julian and I’d definitely spend more than 30 NMT if I got bidded up

I love him a bunch! Everything about him, from a thematically tight house/clothes/aesthetic, to being blue, to being a unicorn -- even his eyes-closed thing -- seems custom-designed to suit me. And add to that a lot of fun and love built up over the years, after making a friend for a while in getting him, and having him in my New Leaf town and customizing his house and all, and he's just a darling. My absolute favorite. It does seem with new villagers attracting attention, he's not the center of as much attention as in the past -- which is probably hard on him, but fine by me!

I like him! I've just never actually got the chance to have him in either NL or NH. I'd love to have him on my island but the 10 villager limit prevents me. I already have Marshal and would love Raymond meaning that I'd have 3 smugs if I also want Julian. So unfortunately I'll have to pass once again. But he's a pretty though! Definitely the most popular horse villager and probably 3rd most popular smug after Raymond and Marshal.

Julian is still popular I just think that Raymond and Marshal are contributing to him losing popularity as most people are going for those 2 smug as their first, I personally like Julian!

Yeah, definitely. A lot of people only want 1-2 of each personality and usually Marshal and Raymond come before Julian.

I had Julian in New Leaf and I loved him. One of my favorite villagers in my town moved out and I was so sad, but then I read the plot of land and it said Julian, I was so happy! Personally, I would prefer Marshal and Raymond, since I've already had Julian, but this would probably differ if I didn't have Julian in New Leaf. (I love the color blue, he could have all my blue hybrids outside his house!)

My thoughts on Julian: I love him! He's the smug villager I really want!

My thoughts on NMT prices: Is this a thing because people love being able to go to the islands, but don't rack up the miles quickly enough for the tickets? It's really a curiosity.

I don't really like Julian, he's just too much for me haha. A unicorn villager is a cool idea, though.

The smugs are probably my favorite personality in the game but I never really liked Julian all that much.I like the concept of him being a unicorn but they should have given him actual eyes and not what looks like two small jellyfish stuck to either side of his head.If he had eyes like Colton,I'd like him a lot more.

I never had him in NL but I got him as my first campsite villager in NH and I love him. I was originally planning to auction him off but I think I'll be keeping him. He's so funny and looks so stylish in the blue checkered coat I gave him. Also, the closed eyes are a common trope in Japanese designs so I don't have a problem with it.

I agree that his "dreamie" status has definitely declined, though. But oh well - that just means he'll be more accessible now to those who actually like him as a villager.

The best smug. Raymond and Marshal can eat their hearts out, they aren't unicorns and they aren't astrologically-themed. Absolute king. BFF in New Leaf, BFF now.

He moved into my NL town one day and I've loved him since then. I didn't think I would, he was in no way a dreamie of mine, but he grew on me. I was going to have both him and Raymond on my NH island but I forced Julian out to try to lure Raymond into the campsite [it worked] and before I could amiibo him back in he moved from my void to my wife's island. She really likes him [and we don't overlap villagers because we visit so much] so he's living there now. Him remembering me is enough XD

He was a huge favorite back when I was still playing New Leaf. He was so highly sought after that I ended up settling with Colton, the other smug horse option. (Funny story: Colton ended up being my favorite villager of all time, even though my island has Julian now.)

I still like the novelty of his unicorn design, and he makes me smile. I actually love the eye makeup detail on him.

Spoiler: Well...

Colton and Julian are a dream couple and I can't imagine my island without them. Amiibo cards really hurt most of the villagers prices, and he is also competing with Marshal and Raymond for the smug position.

Overrated.

The funny part is, I'm starting to consider wanting him and some of the other popular smugs because I hate the NH smug dialogue so much that my old favorite (Shep) fell out of favor. Now I think the tryhard wannabe dialogue would work well with villagers I hadn't considered before and maybe make me hatelike them, somehow. Like hateliking a silly cartoon villain.

Ed was my first Smug and I wanted him gone as soon as possible, but ironically he's the only smug I've tried (cycled through a lot) that visually fits the stupid dialogue.
