for real tho, a great house, good aesthetic, a kind long face, a horn - i just think the developers are getting a bit mire creative w designs so while a singular unicorn used to be SO ostentatious, now is kinda similarly met with heterochromia and sparkles, etc. which makes julian not outrageous popular now, just popular.
I love him, he was my first ever smug. I just jumped in with New Leaf and was unaware of how many villagers there were and how they'd all have fans. I think Kidd took his place as my fave smug, but I would be delighted to see him again in NH.
julian gives me tamaki suoh vibes, and for that, i love him. he has it all - the dramatic flair, the looks, and we all know that he would simp hard if someone compliments him. if we were able to have more villagers, he would definitely be on my island.
he's cool! he randomly moved in my NL town and that was before I knew he was super popular lol.
in regards to his popularity, I think he's still popular, but it looks like people are focusing more on the newer villagers (looking at you, raymond). but he def still has fans lol
It's kinda to be expected. New villagers that aren't as easy to access (no amiibo cards) naturally get overhyped and high demand.
I've never been huge on having him. I can fully see why he was popular in New Leaf and he has a nice design. I just in general am not overly found of smug (Hans was probably the only exception to that..cuz idk yetis make it okay lol).
I didn’t like him much in New Leaf, though I’ve never had him either. He’s grown on me since though and I think I want to have him in New Horizons hopefully.
Fell in love with him in New Horizons when I saw him Oblivia's town. I happened to be online when she said he was moving and she let me have him. Now he's one of my favourites.
I’m not a fan of his character design or house aesthetic at all. He’s just not interesting. Then again, most of the horse-types do nothing for me. Maybe because their heads look like giant, misshapen peanuts? But the tacky blue color and kitschy-ethereal theme he has are also just a big “nope” for me.
I don't really care for him, but it has nothing to do with Julian personally. I just don't care for the horse villagers very much in general. I'm not a horse person. I don't get the appeal. *shrug*
In NH I recruited him with amiibo and I don’t really like him because he’s always singing, trying (and failing) to outshine Flo (best singer on the island)
Julian is definitely my second favorite smug. He was the first villager to move in once I started New Leaf, and 13-year-old me was absolutely smitten with that magical unicorn. I plan on moving him into my island with an amiibo card at some point.
i think he’s a decent smug. i had him for a while back in new leaf as a dreamie but i grew tired of him quickly lol. i don’t mind him at all but there’s definitely other smugs that i like more ;u;
