Thoughts on Curlos the smug sheep boi <3

My friend had Curlos for some time, and I think he's pretty cool. I like his smug aura. And his eyebrows x)

I feel like he's... well... no one ever talks about him... and when you see him on tier lists or ranking lists they usually say negative things about him :'(
in all honesty,, i don’t have an opinion on him as i never really think about him. he’s one of those villagers that tend to fly under the radar (especially since he sort of lives in pietro’s shadow) and so,, i usually forget that he even exists.
that being said, i do like his colour scheme and i think he fits the smug personality more than pietro does and i wouldn’t be opposed to having him on my island. but the smugs are my least favourite and so if i had to have one (which i do,, to unlock the final reaction lmao), i’m way more drawn to having phil, zell or pietro instead of curlos ;u;

I used to briefly have him in one of my new leaf towns, and he was OK. I didn't really keep around for long for me to have an opinion on him.

I don't really like him, something about his eyes creep me out a little and I'm not sure why. I ran into him on a mystery island and realized that about him. He doesn't have a bad design at all though and I know many people like him!
I prefer him over Dom, at the very least. He's not my fav sheep, not even my fav male sheep, but I do think his design is very independent of the other sheep, and he also reminds me a bit of Antonio from Hetalia for some reason, so I can't help but hold a little fondness for him.
I've never housed him on any of my islands/villages, though. My friend has him, I should ask to visit him!

Curlos is nice. I have him in my island and he's given some entertaining conversations. Although two days ago he told me he uses an espresso maker to cook squash and creamed corn so I don't know what to think of him now.
Not that your opinions are going to change mine or anything... but I was just wondering what you think of this (in my opinion) wonderful villager that nobody ever seems to talk ab lol.
I think he's wonderful1st camper, super love him and if all my villagers had to move away except one, he'd be veeerry high on the list that I'd be simping to keep lol (Sherb and Tammi are the only other contestants)

My problem is: I like so many that I like too many villagers/islanders.
I played “New Leaf” from August 2013 to March 2020 that led to the release of “New Horizons.”
Toward the end of my period of regularly playing “New Leaf,” I started a town establishing Curlos as a or the Resident Smug. This is not a town I developed enough to submit for a Dream Address. It was a town that allowed me to have experience with Curlos.
I like Curlos.
I like a lot of villagers/islanders.
This is not a bad “problem” to have.

He's quite okay, although not a favorite of mine when it comes to the sheep villagers (kinda prefer Pietro and Dom over him). His name is cool however.
Curlos is pretty average to me with nothing standing out. However, that at least puts him above likely have the roster of villagers as most of them are pretty ugly to me. Not the biggest fan of his missing nose though which may place him a tad lower some of the others I don't feel strongly about either way. Inside of his home looks pretty nice and the outside isn't anything impressive.
His main issue stemmed from me having many Smug villagers that actually stood out to me. Colton, Henry, Jacques, Kyle, and Ken are all pretty high up there for me across all villagers and are all Smugs. So when it comes to picking out a Smug or two, Curlos was left off my personal radar pretty fast. I wouldn't of hated him if he was my first camper (as he would of saved me from worse contenders), but I got Henry so i lucked out anyways.
His main issue stemmed from me having many Smug villagers that actually stood out to me. Colton, Henry, Jacques, Kyle, and Ken are all pretty high up there for me across all villagers and are all Smugs. So when it comes to picking out a Smug or two, Curlos was left off my personal radar pretty fast. I wouldn't of hated him if he was my first camper (as he would of saved me from worse contenders), but I got Henry so i lucked out anyways.
My sibling that I play with had him as their first camper, and he wasn't meant to stay for long (had to make room for my first camper, Beardo, their absolute favourite smug! 
)
I picked him up much later for my second island and while I'm really enjoying having him around, I can't see myself keeping him around forever, as he's one of the few smugs with the B subtype. And I've got one already: the glasses-cat.
They have the same exact hobby, too.
Raymond is going nowhere as he's peas in a pod with his youthful ward, Pudge, so Curlos will eventually have to leave. It'll be difficult but I can only handle two smug B villagers with the same hobby for so long
The silver lining is that I have Curlos' amiibo card, so he isn't truly gone forever when he does leave!

personally I think the response was at most a very mild joke about Raymond’s general popularity...especially considering he and curlos are the same type. I am having a hard time reading it as a dig at anything except for the fact that the op is not a Raymond fan. maybe you are primed to feel attacked because Raymond is very polarizing, right now, and some of the attacks have been personal, which is terrible. But I think if you take every even slightly negative remark about Raymond as a personal attack it is going to be a lot for you.
everyone has their likes and dislikes, and while it can feel personal, because we get so attached to our faves (take it from someone who loves tabby, haha) I don‘t think it is productive to read too far into it most of the time. (Easier said that done I know) I say all this to try and make you feel better, though I find not everyone finds what I find comforting.
I'm not primed to get up on a pedestal and defend Raymond every time he's brought up in conversation. I don't find everything related to him personal, it's just this one occasion didn't sit well with me 100%. I'm sorry if I appeared 'attacked', I was politely asking.
The matter is that I like Curlos, but I'm not planning on keeping him as long as I do Raymond. That was all.
I don't know, it just wasn't the right thing to wake up to today, if that makes any sense at all

Can't exactly have one without the other anymore; they literally don't appear without the other at this point. It could have been any other smug doing the same exact thing, but it happened to be that one.
I dislike some popular villagers and absolutely love some 'hated' ones (I've noticed you mention Tammi a few times. I'm glad she has another fan somewhere, hurrah), but I won't get in the way of people's preferences. That's part of the magic of villagers; there's somebody for everybody!
