Ok, so I was just reading the threads about people being able to possibly seed other players towns in the future and making undroppable items for the evil intentions of ruining your inventory forever. If this hacking into ACNL gets any worse I'm scared that if Nintendo catches this happening over and over they might drop the idea of wi-fi for ACNL. It's up to us to prevent this nonsense from happening. If you have a friend who does this kind of hacking please try all you can to steer them away from these ideas. Look what happened to Swapnote....tell me.........whats gonna be next?

This post is to warn other players to be careful if you see any strange titled items laying in someones else town. Or if someone is acting suspicious you can flip the wifi switch and delete that person! PLEASE DO NOT PICK UP STRANGE UNKNOWN ITEMS!

That's actually pretty scary, because Nintendo might actually do something about if it continues :( seriously, there is no point in ruining other people's games.

Mario Kart Wii was hacked for years and stayed up until 2014 (when their contract with a 3rd party expired), I think the game could definitely get patched but I don't think they'd shut the servers down for something like this.

People really shouldn't hack, though.

The new 3DSes don't have a wireless switch, I think. At least mine doesn't :/

Still, thanks for the warning :)

Lol have you seen Pokemon

It's Nintendo's fault that their games get hacked so easily
They don't patch them well! Leaving room for hackers to get inside the games

How are people hacking the game? I know that in wild world it was a problem with action replay because you could drop building seeds and whatnot, but how in this game? The 3DS powersaves doesn't support user made codes, so this shouldn't be a problem. Is there a different method that people are using?

As far as I haven't seen any hacked towns or items in peoples towns yet. I watched someones youtube video of them using a powersave to hack walls and floors into their house from Re-Tail.

The new 3DS does have an off switch for wireless communications. Tap where you switch themes and scroll down and it'll have the option to have wireless communications on or off.

As for the hacking I find that very crazy. I've always thought hacking took the fun out of games, except Pok?mon. It always irritated me that they made version exclusives just to try to get people to spend more money. I mean it's a good idea from a business standpoint, but as a consumer I find it utterly irritating. Plus, there are now over 700 pok?mon and I really would like a game where I'm able to actually catch them in the wild as opposed to having to trade from old games(curse you Pok?mon bank), rely on the friend safari, or trade on the GTS(which broke my copy of Black). Although, the few times I actually got hacked pok?mon I never traded them, only kept them for myself. Anyways, as Dreamy Luigi said people hacked Mario Kart Wii and to my knowledge nothing was ever done about it so I doubt Nintendo would step in on something like this. They could, but I don't see it happening.
