Thinking of restarting. Opinions please

So i have been playing for about 6 weeks and have gotten a little bored with my town. Im not happy with my house placement and i think i could get a better town map. Any opinions? It wpnt let me upload my town map pic tho. Any idea how to do this?

Are you having trouble uploading your picture into the thread or getting off your DS? I can only help with the first.

As for restarting- I'm a hugeee advocating for restarting if you're not happy with your map. After 7-9 restarts, I'm finally playing on a map and in a town that I'm in love with, and it really does make a huge difference. When you settle with your map or think you'll just have to grow into it, it really affects the way you feel about your town. And loving your town is such a massive part of ACNL.​

If you're unsatisfied with house placement or layout, I say go for it. These things are permanent, unlike villagers or items or bells, which can be regained in a new town.

When you settle with your map or think you'll just have to grow into it, it really affects the way you feel about your town.

OMG, a million yes's to this! I'm sorry, but I don't believe that "one of the charms of the game is dealing with your town's layout and making it work". No, if you are truly unhappy, nothing can make you happy with the layout. I've learned this well.

Im also hesitant because i really wanted apollo and i got him in the original villagers. Id be sad to not have him lol

You could always ask someone to hold him for you, if you're willing to TT him into boxes.

You can also buy a new game cartridge but if not, I'd recommend restarting. I had been playing on my town for about a year and I restarted. I like my new town much better.
You can also take what you learned and apply to it to the new town to make it that much better.

after playing with my first town for a few months I really didn't like my town lay out and was getting really bored. I had no motivation to progress, but restarting was the best thing for me

Also, New Leaf is on sale for $20 in the nintendo e-shop (if your in North America). Then you could have a second (digital) copy that you could try out without messing with your main town.
