Things you dislike about the 3DSXL

First I want to stress that I LOVE my 3DSXL and carry it everywhere with me, even to work. (I even use it sometimes to demonstrate it for customers.)

But I have noticed two things that bother me, one more than the other and both are similar.
the one that bothers me the most is the position of the volume control. I am constantly turning my volume all the way down with the side of my index finger simply by moving my hands while playing games, and it's a annoying to have to constantly turn it back up.

my second issue is probably mostly because I'm old, but the sound through the external speakers is way to quiet. if I wear earphones then its fine, but I don't like wearing them. and while I do know my hearing is worse than when I was younger, I will point out that I don't have any problems hearing my phones or tablets external speakers, and they are both portable devices as well. I just think Nintendo went cheap on the speakers is all. lol

Well that's my ranting for today, other then these two things I really enjoy my 3DSXL.

I also accidentally take a photo when running on AC and like you said you accidentally hit the volume slider which is annoying besides that I think the 3DSXL is perfect...

I'd definitely have to agree about the volume slider; that thing seems to move with the slightest breeze.

Another thing that annoyed me at the start was the slight wobble of the hinge when it's at the position I use when I play. That, combined with the relatively heavy top screen, kind of meant it'd just flop around a bit whenever I shifted. It doesn't bother me as much now, but it did take a little bit of getting used to.

I agree with the volume thing.

Question, does your XL screen wobble when you move it?

I think they all wobble slightly, which my lite used to do too, too rigid and there's risks, too wobbly and it's just plain annoying. But yes, all 3 of the ones within my family are a bit wobbly

I've never had a problem with accidentally moving the volume slider on my XL.

When I first got it, for the first month or so, I didn't realize that to turn off the 3D, you actually have to push the slider down a click, so when I thought I was turning it off, I was just putting it on low for the longest time. Whoops. :P

The only thing I really dislike about it is the way it clicks into place once, and then again twice. It makes sense, and it's handy in some ways, but the sound makes me cringe. It probably sounds way worse than it is.

My gripe is the fact that it's kinda heavy, imo. It's heavier than the Vita and much, much heavier than my DS Lite and my hands seem to get tired fast when playing with it. I was dead-set on getting the XL, but now I sometimes find myself wishing I got the small one instead xD

I don't like how the buttons (X-A-B-Y) are so small. I know I'm more used to home consoles instead of portables, but those buttons are even smaller than the buttons on my GBA SP, which is a system that's half the size of a 3DS XL.

I kinda wish they would add a 2nd analog stick like how the game cube control had the c pad. I do know that you can purchase an attachment but it would be nice if they had a built in one for other games. Although its not really needed for animal crossing.

Nintendo had to redevelop new speakers for the XL, so maybe they got cheap there. Maybe they were those people who do it for the money but never spend any to do it :o
