Well, we have a week left in August, and I still haven't found a walking leaf. I need it for my encyclopedia/museum, but I haven't seen any at all! Does amount of ground spaces filled impact their spawn rate? Because my town is full of junk on the ground.

i think it spawns on empty spaces on the ground under trees, at least that's where i always find them.

they're not that rare so keep looking!! i definitely feel you though, i haven't caught the tarantula yet ):

Yeah, I think that's the case, I just haven't seen one. I'm sure I'll find one as soon as I stop looking! Good luck with the tarantula!

Stuff on the ground could be your problem. Especially around trees. Sell or trade some stuff in one area near trees. If you are really desperate, cut all your trees down except in the area that's clean. Then check for it, catch all other bugs you see around town and it should spawn. Good luck!

The walking leaf can be caught in September. Found one of the best time to catch one was during Bug Off.
All three players caught one. It helps to remove flowers around some of the trees. It's harder to see them if you have trees planted close together. Walk slowly near the trees because it can move before you see it. You'll hear a noise like the tarantula makes when it disappears.

I hear the best time to get them is in the rain near trees, that's when I caught mine. You can't catch them when playing online/your gate is open, if that also helps. This was the last bug I had to catch for the encyclopedia...In short, good luck. :o

i always seem to have an excess of them; id suggest picking up as many items as possible and isolating an area w/ no bushes/flowers, but no dirt patches
gl! i still havent caught a tara/scorp cx

I have this problem with snails. Thy supposedly appertaining on bushes when it's raining, but I never see them, and if I do, I always accidentally run into the bush before I see them. Walking leafs should appear as furniture leaves near trees on the ground when you approach them they should come 'Alice's and start crawling away. I've never had issues catching them, but maybe of you have a lot of clutter on the ground it is hard to spot them.

Thank you everyone for your tips and luck wishes! I'm going to try cleaning up the grounds a little bit and see how if I can catch one. ^-^

I thought they were fairly common, but I don't leave anything at all on the ground so a leaf laying under a tree sticks out like a sore thumb in my village.
