I'm not sure if there's a certain time they happen more often at. I normally keep my time at 12-2 pm when tting since lots of vilagers are out wandering in the middle of the day. I've not had someone fail to ping me yet

Just FYI, I don't know if this was luck or what, but I TT'd exactly a year forward, because I wanted to lose my tan and grow some grass back, and no one left my town. And I TT all the time, I think you will be okay as cautious as you are being about it
