Now, I'm not talking about "I saw Tier 1 villager blah blah and just couldn't resist inviting him/her because now I'm going to be rich." Yawn. I'm talking more about that unexpected villager who made you revise your plans because you just thought they were cool. Spontaneous like, if you will. Here's my example.

Vic the Bull decided he wanted to move from my town, and since he lived there for months not giving PWP suggestions, I was all, "Don't let the door hit you, etc." I then TTed him to boxes and gave him to a lovely person here, to hopefully live happily ever after. But I was ticked, because dang, I seriously need those few remaining Zen PWPs to make my town look spiffier. I attempted to procure another cranky from these forums, but connection issues prevented it. My mind was set on making sure my next occupant was a Cranky, dammit, and I was going to befriend the shizz out of him until I had my precious Zen PWPs. It's been nearly a year of playing, I've unlocked everything else, so come on, I thought to myself.

My campsite was full the next day. I went in, hoping for a cranky. Instead, there was a tiny, confused looking tomboyish duck named Pate. Nope, I thought. Just nope. I talked with her just to be a polite mayor, and next thing you know, I was looking at her and thinking, "I bet Molly would like having another duck around," and "Oh, she and Merry would get along great." Next thing you know, I'm playing rock, paper, scissors with her in hopes that she'll move in. She plots tomorrow.

If you read all of this, thanks for bearing with me. And now I ask, has this ever happened to you? Who was it, and what was it that won you over?

This happened to me, but it was with someone Tier 1. I actually really didnt like the look of Fauna, and had ZERO interest in her. I saw her in my campsite, and like you, thought to be polite and talk to her. But she was so kind. We talked a bit, and I (again like you) thought about her and Diana hanging out, being friends. And then I just knew I had to have her move in. The idea of Diana and Fauna being friends was too irressitable, and she was and still is a sweetheart.

The campsite can make you realize many things.

Also cycling. I was cycling, and normally HATE kangaroos, but I fell in love with a pink kangaroo with star eyes and long lashes, I believe she was named Marcie? I almost thought of making my town full of 'all pink' villagers* everywhere. But I knew I couldnt, so she had to be let go.
I still miss her :'c

This is a perfect quote. You are right though- something about the campsite just makes a villager seem more interesting, somehow, and I love your stories about Fauna and Marcie.

I found Cherry. Thought she was kind of interesting...
Cherry is in my main town now, and she is great. She's like the cool rock and roll chick who landed in a town of senior citizens.

I suspect Hamlet will easily win me over if he ever shows up to my campsite.
I bet this is so. Hamlet lives in one of my towns, and he is just so cute. Although he did sneeze on me six times when he dropped by the other day. Kind of rude, but in the way that a kindergartner might be rude. :D

If I wasn't at my max 10 neighbors right now, I'd probably have taken in Punchy the other day. He just reminds me of a cat I had when I was young. ;;

Wow that first sentence is kinda rude. So what we're not allowed to find a tier one irresistable?

Well screw that, I'm gonna say anyway that when I found Diana in my campsite I decided to take her in even though she wasn't a villager I was looking for at all. I was actually looking for Annalise as my 2nd snooty, and I really didn't think much of Diana from pictures I saw in forums, but ingame I found her ADORABLE. She moved in (after so much trouble to place her right, omg) and she won't be leaving anytime soon. I really like her, even though now it means Zell will leave because I don't like having more than one of a species. I don't mind though.

Did you actually fully read the first sentence? It states that I'm not looking for stories of finding a Tier 1 villager and being happy because you're going to sell them.

Yes I actually did the whole post actually, and that's not what it said. It said "because now I'm gonna be rich". I assumed you ment that the person would think the villager added value/a sense of being rich to the town.
Sorry for the misunderstanding.

It's fine, no worries. It would be really hypocritical of me to not want to hear about people falling unexpectedly in love with popular villagers- after all, I have Molly and Lolly in my town (though Lolly was a streetpass hitchhiker) :P

For me it was Tom. I already had Lobo and didn't want another cranky and I already had 3 cats in my town/as dreamies. I saw him at the campsite and quite liked him so I moved him in, intending for it to be temporary and mostly just to prevent a random ugly villager from moving in (I was at 8 villagers at the time). I was then going to give him to a friend that really wanted him. He had a moving date and everything but he decided on his own not to leave. The next time he wanted to move, I was too attached to let him go.

I've only seen pictures of Tom, but wow, what a cutie. I love the idea of a cranky cat- it reminds me of one of my old kitties, a crabapple named Lulu who adopted my husband and I. :)

The last time I walked into my campsite and found a camper that surprised me was kind of unpleasant.
I remember being on TBT, and on some thread and there was a spoiler.

When I clicked and opened it - Harry the hippo was inside.

Then I walked into my campsite then I saw Harry.

In my mind, I was just like.. really?

LMAO! Well, I dunno...perhaps it was a sign? It could have been the beginning of a beautiful friendship.

That is a weird coincidence though.

It was actually less than a week ago- right after Mint moved out, I had Mira show up in my campsite. She was one of my 2 favorite villagers from my original town before my save file corrupted, but one of the main reasons I let Mint go was because I already had 7 girls in my town, and I wanted a little more parity. I couldn't pass up having her move in though, so now I'm going to have to decide if I want one of my other female villagers to move, or be content with a 2/7 or 3/7 split.

I've had two experiences like this. Both didn't end well, though. The first was Yuka. I wasn't planning on getting her at all since I already had a snooty and never really liked the looks of her. But then she was in my camp site and she was irresistible and so she filled up the tenth spot in my town. I regretted it the next day as this meant I had no space for other villagers that I've wanted for a long time.

The other time this happened was when Blaire was in my camp site just yesterday. I love the squirrels and think they're all super cute, but I had never had the chance of obtaining one. Unfortunately, I didn't have space in my town (because of Yuka and also other villagers that just won't move). Ugh..

I walked into the campsite (that finally had a camper in who knows how long) and found O'Hare. I love bunnies and he was wearing a miniature version of the hat I always wear (the straw boater); he was just too cute! Can't believe I never saw him before. He instantly became one of my dreamies.

It was a good thing I had one spot left in my town :)

I got Felicity in my campsite when I was doing villager resetting and I had to invite her so move in my town. She wasn't my actual dreamie or anything, but she was so adorable there and I love having her in my town :D

Angus. I thought he looked weird in Wild World, but when I talked to him, I realized that his design really grew on me, so I willingly let him in and got his picture a few times. I also adored his jingle and house.

I had never been a fan of Skye, her official art made her eyes looked weird. I found her in the campsite in Celadon, and I completely adored her. She's the cutest wolf! I didn't take as I had no room. I've found her while campsite resetting twice, but both times I had to go because I was looking for different personalities.
