It's gotta be for Tortimer right? We haven't seen him in any of the footage yet and he retired in the last main game
 
I don't think anyone has died and that it's just a decoration item. Nothing more. I mean, this game and even in the last game, there are lots of furniture items with different themes. Also, it could be Wisp's home like a few other people have said. :)
