The struggle with the smugs

Okay, so...
With my dreamies I could easily fill 4 towns. I like a lot of villagers and it's hard to decide who is allowed in my main town. But none of them is a smug. Not one. 'Ok so what' you might think but I would really like to..like a smug. I don't want to miss out on smug conversations and letters. I want to have a variety.
First I got Zell - I really liked how he looked but I thought he was weird - I let him go.
Then I got Shep. I thought he was cool..for a while, then I got a bit creeped out, he left.
I also had Julian once. I love unicorns. But his closed eyes are so weird to me why are they closed
Right now I have Marshal - after I already sold two Marshals in older towns, he seems to follow me. And I do think he looks adorable - like a baby marshmallow fluff, and I don't want something that looks like a baby pet to FLIRT with me >.<
Yesyes, I know, all smugs say the same. But I think I could deal with it, if it was someone I actually liked. Like if Grizzly or Chief or Apollo were smug, I would still like them and I wouldn't mind them being flirty and weird.

So what do I want? I want to know why you like the smugs you like. Any made up backstories? Associations? Fanart? Anything I missed? Do you just like flirting animals? What is it? How do you deal with them? xD

TL;DR: Which smugs do you like and WHY do you like them?

ALSO: How are smugs if you play as a boy? any different? Still flirty? Is it worth playing as a boy in a new town? ._.

I have Marshall, he's probably my favourite smug, he's adorable! I'm a guy and I haven't noticed him flirting, but I haven't had him long, so who knows? Probably is just a girl think though,

The Smugs I like are Julian, Colton, Pietro, Kyle, Lionel, and Marshal. I've had all of them in my town and I actually like all of them.
-Julian & Marshal - For obvious reasons.
-Pietro because I love sheep in real life and he's rainbow. I also love his clowny-ness.
-Kyle because he reminds me of my real life German Shepard and he has a tough exterior but he's super sweet. A tough ladies man you could say. lol
-Lionel because he's so fancy and it goes with his smugness. You wouldn't expect it from a tough lion. Plus, I like that he's kinda old looking with his white hair, very wise looking to me.
-Colton, of how I have history with Colton. Every town I made, he was in every. single. one. of. them. It's crazy! I love that he's a white fancy horse. I also love his serious face that he makes. It's completely adorable.

I love smug because I like they playful humor. I enjoy it a lot. I laugh every single time I talk to one of them and they flirt with you. It never gets old to me like other personalities (ex; Normal and Jock). I really do enjoy the way they talk and word things.
They are most certainly sincere and get really hurt if you upset them, like not liking their poems. I also like that about them.
As far as Male vs. Smug villagers, I don't know how it's different. I am curious to try it out though.

Jacques is cute and French, Kyle is awesome, O'Hare is adorable, and Lopez has an interesting design.

I also really like Marshal, Zell, Julian, and Henry.

O'Hare is my favorite smug! He's super cute ^u^ Kidd and Shep are pretty cute too

I love smugs because of how sweet and kind they are ^u^ And because of how hilarious they are- they get so overly dramatic about everything! A really good cup of coffee is enough to bring them to tears, they equate a simple cold with hovering between life and death, they get really upset when they find out your fruit furniture isn't edible... it's ridiculous! XD

My favorite is Marshal. I'm so sad he moved away... He's like a lil tough-looking thing that's actually super soft.

Next would be Colton. He's like a prince I guess He's my favorite horse villager. Julian creeps me out with his eyelashes...

I think Kyle would be next... He's like those cool biker dudes in Grease.

My favorite smugs are Julian and Graham. I think the smug personality really goes with Julian's aesthetic and he's adorable. Graham is so cute and nerdy and the awkwardness of the smug personality really just fits with him. The flirting isn't creepy with him, it's cute.

I have a lot of smugs and a mix of male and female mayors and I think the way a smug interacts with a particular mayor comes down to differences in the personality types from villager to villager.For example,I've had two different Curlys in the game and Curly #2 is very different from Curly #1,so you could just keep getting different smugs until you find one that you're comfortable with.I have Hans in one of my towns that has a female mayor and he's not really flirty but I have Tex in another town also with a female mayor and he's pretty damn flirty.I think the smugs are the most unique of all the personality types and that's why I like them.

Okay..confession. Smug villagers are hands down my favorite, I have 3 smugs and then one of every other personality. I love them all so much, with Marshal, Colton and Pietro as my smug residents.~confession over~

You may like KyleHe's a yellow and brown wolf who looks super tough. He doesn't look like most other smugs, as well as Eugene who looks like the guy from Grease. Another nice one is O'Hare, he's a brown bunny with a small hat on his head which is super cute. Let's see..there's Pietro! You can either love him or hate him really. Finally theres Colton, he looks princely and is like Julian somewhat, but has open eyes and no horn.

I adore Julian, but I'd recommend Lopez. I loved his design (I think most of the deer villagers are cute), and he didn't rub me the wrong way with any of his expressions.
