Why do people keep bringing up the villagers talking about the upcoming event? It's obvious that they are talking about the Fishing Tournament. It is indeed the first event on the island, since Bunny Day is the day after, so that's why they are acting as if they don't know what it is. Nothing to do with Brewster.

I think a lot of people are interpreting it that way because Isabelle specifically makes a note on the billboard announcing the fishing tourney, so the player should know what it is and the villagers should too unless we're meant to believe they don't ever read the billboard. I don't really have an opinion either way on if they're just talking about the fishing tourney or not, but I think that's probably part of it.

I know you're mentioning me indirectly, so let me explain here. First and foremost, I don't believe it has anything to do with Brewster

Yes I too thought they were referring to the fishing event. But unless Nintendo failed to get the dialogue to show up before Isabelle's BB announcement, something doesn't add up. Also, I believe the fishing tournament is suppose to happen the second Saturday of every month or so. That and the fact that the fishing tournament isn't "big". Since it happens a few times a year, it's one of those things you just get use to.

Plus, maybe I'm reading too deeply in these

As I said, fishing competition isn't big, and also, why imagine? It's clearly on the bulletin board, where they also post about birthdays.

This is possibly a hint that someone is coming, and yes, that could include CJ, though CJ visits our town. We already know him

That's a good find, though could possibly mean Nintendo copied and pasted from past games, or overlooked what they were writing.

My villagers have mentioned the fishing tourney directly by name but I also haven't had them talk about something 'big' in a vague way either.

it's called a postcard stand and you write "postcards" that Orville sends for you, so I don't think the villagers would refer to it as the post office

I think the 'big event' may refer to Earth Day rather than the Fishing Tourney. In past games villagers would always mention the tourney by name instead of speculating about what might be approaching.

Anyways, I feel like they aren't talking about the fishing tourney. I wonder if it has something to do with the cafe or art gallery being added. Or, it could be something else entirely. Either way I'm very excited for any kind of new content.

The feel like the villagers aren't talking about the fishing tourney. It just seems too roundabout for no reason seeing as how the fishing tourney isn't some secret thing (it's posted on the bulletin board).

In terms of buildings, I can definitely see more being added as we get more updates (seeing as how this is the Splatoon 2 team and all).

Hopefully, maybe, the next few updates would include Club LOL and the Observatory.
Especially the Observatory, because I miss making constellations like I used to in Wild World. Plus it would be a great opportunity to make your island's night sky customizable.

I am stoked for any kind of buildings, characters, or features to be added!
I for one, was highly annoyed when I set up a big chunk of my island for a "shopping/business district" and then realized there was only TWO shops to unlock! Crazy!

Bring on the content, Nintendo! We can adapt our islands lol!
