The powerball lottery is up to 1.3 BILLION dollars

I dunno if this is also in Canada but if I won I'd lose it. Like actually forget it on a bench or something

Among the things I would do with that jackpot are: 1) Make sure I am set for life; 2) Make sure my family is set for life; 3) Get someone I can trust to manage it (well, where to keep so much of it); 4) Everything else which springs to mind that is very important would follow.

I'd make it rain. Like actually rain with $5.00 notes (this is Australia!). With that much money, I'd probably buy a helicopter and just dump massive wads of notes onto unsuspecting strangers.

With that much money you'd pretty much be set for life. Lmao I'd probably drop out of school, never get a job, give back to my family, donate to charity and buy everything I've ever wanted.

honestly if I won I don't think I'd drop out of school. I would however drive there in a new Tesla every day of the week ;)

I'd take a year long tour of Europe and other places. I'd wanna see the Louvre and the Alps and Venice and so much more. I'd buy a lot of art. I'd buy my parents their own homes wherever they wanted. I'd pay off my entire family's debt. I'd buy my Dad's car back or an even better car. I'd move closer to the beach and I'd have a separate house right next to mine purely for parties, or family if they wanted to stay near me. I'd invest money, start a business, and of course donate to charities and research for diseases and green energy. I'd also buy a gluttonous amount of clothes, shoes, and accessories oops.

If you took it over thirty years, would you have to still be living in the U.S. to claim it? And what if you die, does the money just go away?

The winning ticket was sold in Chino Hills, California, which is apparently a suburb of Los Angeles.

The winning numbers are 8, 27, 34, 4, 19, and 10 was the Powerball.

I figure you have to stay in the country, but I don't know for sure. I also heard that if you take the thirty year option and die before you get all of your winnings, they do not transfer to your next of kin and instead go to the state.

so someone won?
The lottery commission confirmed that a ticket with these numbers was indeed sold in Chino Hills. Unless the person who bought it proceeded to drop it or otherwise lose it, it looks like it.

Yup someone won.

I'd take the 525 million in cash.

100 million I'm giving to St Jude's, no doubt about it. 250 million is going to investments so I'm completely set for the future and can expand my wealth.

I would also use 100 million to buy some US politicians and work to overturn Citizens United and get money out of politics.

That leaves me with 75 million to have fun with. Should be good :D
