The METAL thread! \m/

I've seen a few metal CDs at my local Walmart (Metallica, Disturbed, Linkin Park) but it wasn't a big selection whatsoever. Though not metal, I've also seen Red Hot Chili Peppers and Green Day.

Self-titled is pretty great! My favorite Godsmack album is Awake, though.

It would be kind of shocking for tons of fans to buy the exclusive vinyls/CDs and merch, go to Megadeth's last tour and then be told that another Megadeth album is on the way and that the "farewell" hype was for nothing. 😭 But given the age of the band members it's probable that they really are going to retire soon.

Many years ago, I bought a few albums from there. The best finds were Iron Butterfly's In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida and Dio's Holy Diver.

It's a wild world, so you never know!

Well, to continue the conversation from four months ago (since this thread hasn't been bumped in all the time that I was gone, heh).....

The stores around here even have a special section for K-Pop (probably because lots of those albums have neat, distinct packaging). This is somewhat recent, as I don't recall seeing K-Pop stuff a couple of years ago.

For a different thought:

I didn't think I ever hear a death-doom cover of Duran Duran's "Save A Prayer" (released just last year). I find that metal covers of pop songs usually tend to be... uh.... well, kind of trash. This one is an exception!

The official music video:

Layne Staley is my absolute favorite! I love him so much. RIP.

My favorite video of him is the one where he punched the nazi.

I've thought about trying out the Metal Music Archives website, but I don't know; it looks kind of.... not-so-interesting? I briefly checked the forum over there, and it's even deader than this one.
I had no idea they even had a forum lol. I just go there to check if the bands are still active and make sure they're not nazis.

For those into power metal here, ever heard of Cellador? Very underrated band imo.

Any fans of slaves on dope in the chat? I'm a big fan. Does anybody like nailbomb? I don't see much talk about those two bands.

I've never heard of either one. I'll have to give them a try!
you'll only really enjoy slaves on dope if you're a big nu metal guy (or gal, i dunno) and you'll only like nailbomb if you're a big industrial metal guy/gal/Something, to be fair. ::::)

Nu metal is awesome, who cares what the elitists say! I'm more of a death/thrash metal person now but nu metal was my first subgenre. My favorites are System Of A Down and Korn but there's so many great artists out there.

I used to be not into it but it's really grown on me over the years. One of my fav nu metal bands is Mushroomhead. (y)
nu metal was my first introduction to metal, so it'll always have its place in my heart ! i also like the inclusion of turntables into some nu bands. im an avid turntablist.

I relistened to Megadeth's "Youthanasia" album, which I first listened to two years ago. I severely underappreciated it back then, but wow I was blown away! I prefer the fast and thrash-y era of Megadeth, but there's something about the dark and gritty feel of Youthanasia that I love.

My top 5 songs are A Tout Le Monde, Victory, Blood of Heroes, I Thought I Knew It All and Family Tree.
