Here are a few Black Sabbath songs I listened to while I was walking earlier today:
When I tune in to one of them, I tend to play the other one right after. They really do tie well together, as these were some of Sabbath's lighter material. I relate quite a bit with Solitude, in terms of loneliness (which I think can be comforting). Planet Caravan seemed to be created with more room for interpretation in mind. It's generally considered space rock because it taps into the fascination of setting off on a voyage across the cosmos. However, I always found it to be somewhat melancholic in its sound. I've also seen it interpreted romantically, which would tie these two songs together even more if that's the case.
I always thought the "metal/rock is of the Devil" nonsense to be irritating, because you have these bands who often delved into themes completely unrelated to anything religious, yet the people decrying about this so-called "evil" music choose to hyper-focus on just the occult imagery. I'm going to add more songs to shown that this was never Black Sabbath's sole identity, soon.
