so it's currently almost 2;30am and yet again the internet has brought me to a strange place (awesome). tonight, it was discovering this so-called " mandela effect ". I shall paste in what this means / it's definition below.
" The “Mandela Effect” is what happens when someone has a clear memory of something that never happened in this reality.
Many of us — mostly total strangers — remember the exact same events with the exact same details. However, our memories are different from what’s in history books, newspaper archives, and so on.
This isn’t a conspiracy, and we’re not talking about “false memories.” Many of us speculate that parallel realities exist, and we’ve been “sliding” between them without realizing it. "
okay so part of me is like "cailey wut r u doing this is bs and you've been really sick for the past week and it's nearly 2;30am" the other part is like "dude we totally love paranormal freaky stuff like this it's possible omg!!1!1!"..... * sigh *
now, I'll link you to some common memories people believe in / remember from one of the many websites made on this specific "movement" below (you can also find more on your own time, this is all over)
>> mandela effect - major memories <<
one of these that I seriously, without a doubt, hands DOWN REMEMBER is the >> berenstEIN bears memory << .... like I actually grew up on all these books & shows & UGH! I am one of the many poor souls who actually remembers seeing the name as berenstEIN not berenstAIN! the name change isn't even stated anywhere but on some youtube videos and such I've looked at, some people actually have some of the really old books and tv guides and they even say berenstEIN on it but there's only a couple things out there that say that but all older books and shows have had the name changed yet the authors never re-called there being a change of any sort. I just am very good with grammar, etc. and remember reading these / having them read to me and I clearly remember it being berenstEIN and not knowing whether to pronounce it like berenstEIN or berenstEEN... just little things like that so this theory kinda catches my attention a lot.
not even just brands, or events, or tv shows - this can occur when you swear you remember being somewhere or doing something with your family (or just any memory) and you bring up that memory and no one else but you recalls it but like you KNOW it happened, you KNOW you went to that concert with your family or whatever it was and you remember certain buildings and dialogue, etc. etc. yet when you bring it up everyone's like like "uh what're you talking about weirdo" cUZ YEAH I HAVE TONS OF THOSE TOO ANd it's not like it was just a dream or something ;; it's just strange And unsettling I guess!
ah, idk, I just HAD to start a thread on this. I just discovered this is a thing and I'm so confused. people are literally bringing "parallel universes" into the picture and while I'm not totally "bashing" that idea, I'm not even like... surprised about this being possible. on the other hand, others believe that it's just human memory having flaws and us legitimately reading / hearing / believing things wrong, but I would like to hear your opinions on this topic.
* again, I'm not saying I totally buy into this whole thing, but I'm not gonna trash the idea either. but hey, maybe that's just me! I just think this whole topic is pretty interesting, and with just now discovering it I wanted to spark some conversation about it with y'all.
* there's way more out there on this topic than I provided - before posting, try and research more, watch the youtube videos on each memory, read articles, etc. even if it's not believable or "possible" or whatever, it's interesting nonetheless
- most likely closing this soon, lol -
