The Legend of Legacy : opinions ?

I'm making a list of games I'd like to play in 2016 and I found "The Legend of Legacy". I'm somewhat interested, but the thing is that the more reviews I read, well, the more confused and undecided I get, LOL.

So I figured I'd make a thread here and ask if anyone has played this game? And if yes, what do you think about it? From what I've read it seems to be incredibly grindy and random, but at the same time people are saying that it's a great game, so I'd like to know more about the pros and cons (or the "why I should absolutely (not) buy this game").

I haven't played it but I love jrpgs and the characters look cool so i'll probably pick it up sometime next year too.

I have it, it's enjoyable but definitely NOT for everyone.

If you've played any of the old SaGa games (SaGa Frontier, Romancing SaGa, Unlimited SaGa), it's very similar to those and their battle systems. Characters have a random chance during and after battles to get stat increases or learn new skills. Because of this it's EXTREMELY grindy.

Its art style is very similar to Bravely Default, at least with the characters. It's also very challenging even at the beginning. At least until you get the hang of how things work.

That's the one thing that I keep seeing mentioned in the reviews I've read; how grindy it is. Which, normally, I might maybe be okay with, if it wasn't also random. x_x

I've never played any of the games you mention, so I'm not sure what battle system it is exactly. But I know there's a demo in the USA e-shop and I'm hoping Europe will have one as well, because I'd like to try it for myself. I don't think I'll buy it, though; I'm probably better of waiting for Fire Emblem Fates to arrive in Europe. ^_^'
