Do you care how the house furnishing of a villager looks like or not? If you care,
what are you paying attention to? What is a total no-go for you? Or doesn't it
matter for you at all how the house of a villager looks like?

I don't care how the house furnishing of a villager looks like. I mean, sure, it is
nice when the villager has a good looking, tidy room. But after all, I'm just glad
when I have a villager I like in my town, no matter how the house looks. After
all, you can still give/send the villager some items in hope he/she gonna put in
the house (I do this sometimes when the house is quite empty).

Well, Jacob is a prime example of a great villager with an awful house.
I mean, he lives literally in a complete dump.
The villager is still the important thing, not his house. ;)

It doesn't really matter to me. Because one of the main things I like to do in the game is completing requests for my villagers to make them happy, so their houses inevitably get filled with random junk.

I kinda cared at a point but I stopped, because no matter how well I tried to coordinate their house, they would just regift the furniture to another character of mine. So I just fill up their houses with junk and hope that I can get one of their better furniture pieces that I don't have.

I used to not care about it when I was just starting the game so I tried do every requests as much as possible. That was before. It annoys me seeing their houses full of bugs and fishes lol so in my second town, I try my best not to touch their furniture and keep them as original as possible (even their shirt). I mean, they're still part of your town so I'd like them to look presentable like everything around them. Sure, I could probably arrange or customize the interiors later on, but it's very tedious and I have to do a lot of resetting. It's a challenge (on it's own) trying to keep them as default as possible and at the same time, trying to do a few requests to raise their friendship level lol.

At the beginning I tried this for Dobie too, because I love his furniture theme. :)
But he also has the right to change things, so why not.
As I already mentioned Jacob on the other hand... his house is really hideous, so he should get help for a better home. xD

I'm trying to give theme furniture that goes with my towns theme, but they won't get rid of their crappy furniture. :(

I hate Chief's house interior with a passion, I wish I could change his wallpaper and flooring albeit it seems impossible or just difficult to do. :(

I don't care too much, as long as it doesn't become practically empty or a total dump. I try not to give them fossils unless I really need their friendship levels up because I hate how fossils look plus they usually take up so much room.Other than that I give them whatever/let them buy anything from retail.

I honestly prefer a villager's home to be completely original, however I can manage a villager I'm looking for to be missing a couple pieces, unless they are a large item such as a bed or a table.

Other than that, I don't care what shirt or catchphrase they have.

It doesn't matter and doesn't matter how they decorate their houses to me. I like the villagers and if their houses / furniture looks great, that's an added bonus.

I didn't know it matters until I saw questions of whether they are "original" or not. I'm assuming they're asking if the villager(s) have all original furniture...?

I'm more than pretty sure they don't change the wallpaper and flooring.

Shame. I adore Pietro, but I hate his wallpaper and carpet. Ugh. It's just so terrible.

I don't pick villagers based on their furniture, but I do like to gift them different things to replace some of their original furniture to make it more interesting. Though with Hamphrey, I may have messed up a bit. He literally has nothing original left in his house and it looks absolutely dumpy. Ugh, poor guy. With Pietro, it's on purpose that I gift him a ton of items. I hate his balloon furniture and would love to see it all gone. When he moved in, he had 2 rocking horses and 2 balloon lamps - one each to the sides of his door. It was so bad! Like, why do you need 2 rocking horses flanking your door like bodyguards? Good grief. Now it's a water cooler he bought from Re-Tail and like a closet. Of all my villagers, he has the worst interior design - two giant items, placed horizontally, right in the middle of his room. Ugh.

You know what, maybe I do care a bit lol

Personally, the interior doesn’t matter as much. I tend to like most of my neighbors’ interiors.

Yeah I do care about their house interiors idk why, almost no one except me will ever see them lol but when they have ugly stuff in their house I just have to change it out!! They also all have to have some kind of music player in their house so if they don't I send them one. I got into the habit of customizing my villager's home interiors actually (sending them entire different furniture sets in some cases), which was fun and at times incredibly frustrating when they refused to get rid of a certain piece. The only home in my town now that I'm entirely dissatisfied with is Sylvana because all her stuff is unorderable so she won't get rid of hardly any of it and it's just straight up arranged badly.
But, if they already have a nice house (like Boots) I don't bother to do much to it. I almost left Lily's house original because it was so cool but Carmen already had Green furniture so I was like that's way too similar it's gotta go :V

Shame. I adore Pietro, but I hate his wallpaper and carpet. Ugh. It's just so terrible.

Ugh I hate that he has the illusion wall/floor too. It's so ugly and doesn't even match his theme.

The interior design of a villager only bothers me if it's like completely unoriginal being like filled with fish or bugs with only one or two pieces of original furniture, that or if it's just a horrible layout. it does bug me when villagers mess up their perfect original house and i would send them furniture to fix it but im really lazy.

i want it to look almost original, at least. i hate when junk piles up and it looks like garbage. i filled Re-Tail with bubble wands for 999,999 bells and never do any furniture favours. that way, their houses look good.

It makes me cringe when I'm in someone's town and their villagers interior is all mis-matchy or filled with fish, bugs, etc.

I take care to send every villager one special/rare item to display in their home that also matches their backstory! Pekoe has a cupcake customised to look like a panda :3 Muffy has a loom and a gloomy painting, Tia has a sweets bed, Ruby has a mochi pestle, etc.
I think it adds a lot of depth to each character and it gives me something to always work on and perfect since my town is almost completed and I've fully upgraded my house, etc.

Marcel loves his kerkerokeroppi bench and has never asked to replace it etc but he often displays shirts that I've never given him so I have to work to eradicate those when I spot them lol.

I don't like it when they're homes get really empty and bare. Cally had a dresser and just a shirt and some fish in her house once and it was ugly haha. I don't usually care what their house looks like, but when they don't have any furniture or useful items I don't like it. Right now I'm trying to get all my villagers to have some nintendo or sanrio item in their house. It started when Groucho wanted a new item so I gave him my cinnamaroll tray and it was awesome to see grumpy Groucho with a cute pastel coffee tray on his table.

For the longest time I never knew that like, things you gave them or mailed them would be displayed in their house most likely. Don't ask me why I never made that connection. So I have a lot of villagers with garbage just piled in their house. Peggy literally has a toilet for a piano bench,,,,,, Sooo I'm working on getting the interiors fixed of the villagers I want to keep and maintaining the interiors of the ones I haven't messed up yet. Whenever they ask me for fish, I'll only give them goldfish or seahorses, since I think the tank designs are cute and I don't mind seeing them in most interior designs. And when I send gifts in the mail, it's almost always fruit, flower bags, or bells, so they won't display things in their homes.
