The campsite and the 10th villager

Right now, my town only has 9 villagers. I haven't built the campsite yet, and to be honest I'm not even entirely sure if I even want a campsite in my town. But tenth villagers won't move in unless I have a campsite, right?

I'm pretty sure, in my old town when I had no campsite and nine villagers no one moved in

you can get your tenth villager from someone elses town, or using amiibo cards. the tenth villager never moves in naturally, but the campsite isn't the only way to get one

Ways to get a 10th villager:

- someone visiting your town that has a villager(s) in their Void
- adopting a villager from someone else
- StreetPass (now more rare as some people have not updated to Welcome Amiibo)
- inviting a villager from the campsite

Getting to 10 villagers is usually a good thing because then you won't get surprises.

Especially when you are ready to get a villager and the next day there's a plot surprise from someone else!
