Paths are being destroyed. Bear cubs are vanishing. Tears are being shed. Will the 16-villager cycle ever be completed...?
it's all boone's fault screw him to death

i'm trying not to lose hope! my plan is to cycle enough villagers out so i can get pekoe back, then play normally until i can get chester and cheri back! still, it's super stressful. i think i actually almost puked, although i might've just been hungry lol

i hate time traveling. time traveling a few hours or one day ahead is one thing, but at least 2 in-game months have passed since yesterday. and the longer i go without hearing any news of anyone moving, the more stressed out i get. i hold my breath any time i advance a day in fear that a bear cub is going to move out. i can not lose any more bear cubs. i just can't.

this whole thing is so nerve-wracking. i absolutely hate long-term time traveling and i can't wait until it's all over, but i'm terrified that things will only get worse and i'll have to either reset my beloved town or give up on bear cubs, and i'd hate to do either of those things.

i feel so silly about getting so worked up over a game, but those three bear cubs were my best friends, and my town will never be the same even when i get them back. i know i've already made a thread about this, kind of, but any tips on how to cope...?

Ah, man. I can totally relate. At one point in time, I lost Olivia. I don't remember how, but I did. I was so upset, so I started cycling through villagers like crazing to get her back. I ended up losing Lolly and Rosie too, one right after another. Cycling was a nightmare. Zell, Astrid and Eunice would not leave my town no matter what. Just remember once you get Pekoe and the others back, it will all be worth it. I have all my cats back, and my town is complete. Going through all the hard work of cycling is frustrating, but once you get your villagers back it's all worth it. :)

ah, it feels so good to know i'm not the only victim of this...! i'm making better progress than i thought i would. i only need to cycle out 7 more villagers and then i can have pekoe back!

The reason the cubs are moving is because you don't talk to them enough. You have to check carefully every day to see if someone is thinking of moving. Talk to everyone a couple of times at least. Even if you don't like time traveling to different dates, you could time travel within the same day. That way, you have multiple chances to save your villagers. If you want to take a break for a day or longer, the best thing to do is wait until someone talks about leaving, deny their request and save the game. The next time you play at a future date, everyone will still be there.

don't worry, i know what i did wrong. what happened was i time traveled too far ahead in time because i was overconfident. now i'm making sure to travel day by day and talk to all my cubs to make sure none of my permanent villagers are moving out.

also, thanks for the tip about taking a break! i've always been scared of taking a break from the game because i don't want to lose my cubs again, but that really helps in case i decide to spend time on another game or something! :)

This is how I time travel a villager out...
I wait until someone asks and then time travel 2 days forward and the two days back...
Usually then someone asks. Sometimes I have to save and quit and start up the game again for them to ask.

the method i'm using right now seems to be working just fine (the lost bear cubs were due to traveling too far ahead in time, which the method does not require). but thanks for sharing anyway!

I actually think you are doing great! You have already moved seven out in a day and a half. You are rock-starring this! Just try your best to remain sane and keep doing what you are doing. You're going to get there in no time.

thank you for this! i was feeling really anxious and nauseous but you certainly helped! i only need to move out 5 more villagers now!

good news!! i've cycled out enough villagers to get pekoe back! this is my plan:
  1. get pekoe and bluebear
  2. move out 2 villagers
  3. get chester back
  4. move out a villager
  5. get cheri back

i'm so happy and relieved!!

I'm glad that you're still keeping positive about the whole thing. If it was me I would've deleted my town straight away as soon as a couple of my dreamies started to leave. I love the dedication though, good luck getting Pekoe and your other cubs back! I know you can do it. :)

so, uh...i decided to go all the way and cycle out a few villagers so that i'm able to get chester and cheri. problem is, because of all those accidents, every time i cycle i become a nervous wreck. i hate this. it's so tedious too...

Wow, I could never do that! Sounds like you are doing a great job, soon you'll have your cubs back :) Speaking of cubs, Bluebear was in my campsite today. Adorable, but I don't have room. :/

OMG you're amazing, I can't believe you've managed to go through 16 so quickly! I'm glad to see you are able to get them back :D

a couple guides were a lot of help. i also talked to the temporary villagers once and then never again. :)

How long did it take you overall? I'm TTing day by day and it's soooo slow but I'd be so crushed if I lost wolfgang D:

about 24 hours total (don't worry, i took breaks). here's some things i learned:
  • once you've introduced yourself, don't talk to the villagers you're trying to move out, especially if they ping you. if they ping you to move and you talk to them, they'll change their mind and say you should become better friends.
  • if a villager tells you someone you want to stay is moving and that someone isn't pinging you, make sure you're on speaking terms. talk to them, then time travel a day forward and try to activate their ping. also, usually the ping happens as soon as a villager notices you, but sometimes you have to push them a little. but don't push too much or they'll get upset and refuse to speak to you.
  • if you hear from someone that a villager is moving out, and you want them to leave, time travel 5 or 6 days ahead to move them out quickly. the "i heard this villager is moving" rumor starts 5 days before the move date.
  • no one moves out if you only have 8 villagers. no one automatically moves in if you have 9, you would have to get them from another town or a void or the campsite.
  • when no one is thinking of moving, multiple villagers (not just one) will talk about how rumors are frightening, or something. there's a guide to this i can link to when i get home.
  • talk to all your villagers that you want to stay until you're sure no one's thinking about moving. then skip to the next day.
hope this helps...!
