That Giant Clam

I'm at 250+ sea creatures caught and not a single giant clam yet. How long did it take you to get it? I feel like I'm having terrible RNG right now...

To give perspective:
I caught 7 pearls so far
I caught 20+ scallops so far
Made about 200k right now in the box outside of Nooks from selling the extras.

Yes that one. I've caught every creature I've seen so far and none of them have been the clam. I've caught 2 isopods and 1 vampire squid so far.

I was visiting my friend's island and I caught two last night. He hasn't caught any yet though.

I can't estimate how long it took me as I wasn't looking for them. I just swam at all bubbles.

I haven’t caught that many yet I’ve probably one have been diving a little bit yesterday before going onto sleep and a small while this morning. I’ve caught the isopod as well. Almost around the same time in the morning. I’ve caught 21/40 from the list.

Oh my god am I like... super blessed in GIGACLAMS? I've caught like 3-4 already! Compared to 2 vampire squid and straight up 0 isopods. Which rules because I really like how the clams look when they're placed so I'm gonna have clam tanks EVERYWHERE. But I totally want isopods now! I think they're..... weirdly cute? Normally I am so scared of bugs and bug-like things but for whatever reason, isopods just don't bother me as much!

I finally caught it after 283 tries! I decided to go the island since going to the island usually helps me find creatures that I need but can't find on the island.

they seem to be fairly rare - and plus, they’re fast as hell. i managed to catch one last night as i was just catching whatever i could find lmao. good luck!

I caught one tonight. Started yesterday, didn’t count how many till I found one. It ended up being the last one I needed for this months creatures.

caught one this afternoon! i did chase it for a bit, but at least in my experience the isopod was faster. maybe i just snuck up on the clam better!
love how it looks in the aquarium though.

I actually caught two of them today in a row! : P

I found a spot on my island that might be my "lucky diving spot," I don't know if anyone else has noticed this, but there are certain areas on my island that are "lucky" for fishing- meaning rare fish spawn there very often. I once caught two dorados in a row in one of these spots. I don't know if this is a glitch, programmed this way, or RNG "luck" but these spots seriously work. I found the two giant clams in a potential "lucky" spot on my island.

It was the last creature for July I caught. I got two in a row this morning finally, but that was after about four hours of diving, six pearls, two giant isopods, and 6+ inventories full of creatures sold to Timmy and Tommy.

I had over 350+ dives yesterday. 5 of those are giant clams, 3 are isopods, 1 vampire squid, 5 pearls and 20+ scallops.

I just caught one and the vampire squid at night. Only caught about 108 creatures I think.

I’ve caught the giant clam about 4 times but no vampire squid definitely RNG! I’m up to 376 sea life caught too!
