texting/calling villagers

what if we were able to call and text our villagers? like they have phones and take selfies time to time so it could be possible. nothing over the top. simple convos about how they are and they'll reply with "im good" or "im sick at home" etc. even sending emojis to one another would be nice and help boost friendship.

also, since we don't have a megaphone, calling/texting them where they are would be nice. i imagine it would be the same way with the message leading towards them (like in New leaf they would yell where they are). i like the letters and enjoy sending them but sometimes im just lazy to walk to the airport.. idk, what do you guys think?

I agree. Fits in with the modern aspects they have included like having a smartphone. Or maybe send emails as an option as well as letters for those who like traditional communication methods.

it was weird this wasn't incorporated in, we were able to in pocket camp. and having nook phone, i assumed we'll be able to as well. maybe in the future? i also noticed how we don't get invites & they don't show up at our houses anymore, maybe because it's meant to be implicated soon. i know we're always going with the "maybe in the future updates", but it's a possibility.

I didn't even think of emails! emails would be great. plus, emails are just like letters but just digital and free lolll

I've been saying this! How you gonna include a phone and not give us the ability to use it as a phone? It would save me a lot of headaches if we were able to make quick calls so the villagers could tell us "I'm home right now", "I'm visiting the museum" or "I'm over at the beach"

exactly! I honestly think they would since the phone plays a big part in the game. why give the villagers a phone to begin with? probably because they have plans to put in some kind of communication system (or they really wanted to make villagers take selfies...). the only invite so far ive gotten is the bd one. crossing my fingers for house invites

Yeah, I wanna call them from time to time. Even if they don't tell us specifically their location if we ask, they could just hint it. Be like "Oh hey, btw I like these random Racoon Figurines you placed" and the only place you know there are any would be by the bottom right beach.....

Aw. I think letters replaced text messages, but it'd be cool to call villagers or at least get random calls from them (since we've had calls from Nook and Timmy/Tommy before).

Also, it would be soooo cool if villagers that moved out from your island or villagers from islands you visit gave you calls (much like in WW, where villagers from other towns sent you letters )
