I recently finished my landscaping (other than hybrid flowers) and would like a bit of feedback, please. This is just a temporary DA, and there aren't items laid out for people to use (sorry, I will once I nail things down). My town is not hacked, and I don't use paths, so it isn't flashy, but I think it's a pretty town and would like to see what others think. If you get a minute, I'd appreciate it. :)

Thank you!

I'll visit in a bit.

Edit: It's a lovely town! I really had fun wandering around. I like how the atmosphere changes in different parts of town, and I bet it would be even more effective after dark. Your landscaping and use of color is great. I love how you decorated the mayor's house. The basement was set up really cool and I enjoyed your use of the skeleton.

Only question I have is to ask what you plan to do with the wind turbine? It doesn't seem to fit with the other pwps you've set up.

Great work you've done! I'd be happy to visit again once you get things finalized.

I loved your town! It's so pretty and I love the fairytale and forest themes. I had lots of fun checking it out, and I'm excited for when it's finished. Great job!

That being said, there were some things I would consider working on, and I hope it's okay to list them. Most of this is just me nitpicking, though.

To start off, is the Town Plaza area done? It was somewhat weird that the top and bottom are so different, and I wasn't sure if it was supposed to stay that way or if you just hadn't finished the top part to match the perfect cherries you had on the bottom.

Personally, I would change the path to Harvey's campsite from your town hall a bit. I would widen the beginning of the path, so it fits in with the rest, either by moving the top bush next to the Town Hall up one tile, or getting rid of the first two bushes on the bottom, since you can't move them because of the rock.

Maybe make the paths in front of Epona's house a little clearer, I didn't really get where I was supposed to go, and maybe work on the Lighthouse area a bit (which I assume is your intention, anyway). I would also change the path between her and Erin's house to be more "consistent" (?). Either replace the four trees with another Wisteria Trellis, or the trellis with more trees (or bushes - personally, I think it's better if you can see the path, especially when it's so narrow).

Speaking of Erin's house, I didn't get what the east room was supposed to be, but that's just me nitpicking. Either way, I especially loved her little library downstairs!

The fairytale fountain area is beautiful, but if you wanted to improve it, I would make it more symmetrical. I ended up getting carried away and drawing a sketch of what I would do with the space, and I would feel rude just posting it, like, "Here! You gotta do this!", but if you'd like, I can add it in.

I had some problems sometimes where I couldn't tell if I was supposed to be able to walk somewhere or not, and one of the more questionable areas was between your Reset Surveillance Center and caf?. There wasn't a path between the two, but the center was pretty easy to find (is it supposed to be so easy to find, or more hidden?), and there wasn't anything really blocking me passing through to the caf?. I would add a bush or something, maybe even move the trees over to the right a bit to make it more hidden.

I think otherwise, a lot of the problems with areas I wasn't sure if I was supposed to go to will be solved when you've added in the rest of the flowers and are completely finished with the town.

In total, though, I really did love your town! Definitely glad I got to visit. c:

ravenblue: Thanks for checking it out. :) I'm glad you got the feel of different changes throughout town. I was trying to create little neighborhoods, so it wasn't plot of TOWN. I love my skeleton, too. His name is Herman and he constantly confuses the villagers when they come over. ;) I put the wind turbine up because I wanted a renewable energy source for Town Hall (and by extension, the rest of town), and I don't like the look of the solar panel. It doesn't take a lot of room, and it might be a bit more modern than a true fairy tale town would normally have, but I am trying for a blend between the fantasy and reality.

Burumun: Thank you for looking around! The plaza is complete (maybe a few more flowers). I intentionally planted the normal cherries between the plaza and river. They are the native fruit in town and I wanted some kind of visual division between the police station and Town Hall. It's why the trees around Epona's house are plain rather than fruit.

Before Epona moved in, that was all a grove area, with a narrow path from my house to Town Hall. I tried plotting her in other areas, but she kept insisting on plunking in on wooded spots. I like having varied widths of paths, which is why the trees line both sides. I understand what you are saying about it being a tad difficult to navigate, but since it is a short section, I didn't worry about it.

The trellis serves to delineate the boundary between Epona's and my houses, but also creates a transition between two of the "neighborhoods". The trees and bushes change, so adding another trellis would blur that.

I'm still trying to figure out the east room of my house, as well, so I don't blame you for being confused. It's proving to be incredibly stubborn! I love my library, as well. That and the office in the west room are my favorites, I think.

The Reset Center was placed there because it's not really in the way. With the rock and pond there, it just fit and it makes it easy to get to when open. Plus, it looks (to me) like an appropriate place for a manhole cover, with the train station and pavement. I know a little path has worn in at that spot, which is from me checking the rock. It can allow people to cut through the woods to the caf?, but I'm okay with that. It happens in real life that people wander through short cuts, so I can live with it. :)

The fountain area is about as symetrical as I was able to make it. The section is a little odd-sized for what I wanted, and I don't want to over-plant it. I had it very landscaped and ripped it all out for what you saw. I wanted something more open and park-like, which I hope is what it appears to be.

I hope that doesn't sound as though I am refuting all your observations (which I do appreciate!); I wanted to explain what my brain was trying to do. :D

Thanks again for visiting!

I would love to come by and visit your Dream Address. I'm not sure how much my Feedback would help you, but I'll do what I can with what I've got. ^.^ So... I am back and ready to give some feedback. Here goes...

The plaza area is... interesting. I never knew that bushes could be that close to the plaza area. So... I thank you for that interesting discovery. It inspired me to try a different landscape design than what I was intending to do originally.

About the Wind Turbine area... I'm not really sure what you intend to do with it. :T So... Don't really know what to say about it.

The log bench area that I've found... I feel like there's too many flowers surrounding it. Though that's just me.

The fountain area... The design is unique. I've never seen a design like that before. Though... I'm not sure if yellow lilies fit with the color scheme of it. I am wondering if the flower bed is supposed to only have one flower on there or if it is just incomplete.

The flowers you chose to surround each villager's house with really seems to work together. :3 Such an interesting combination. I like it.

I explored Erin's house and I'm really loving the basement area. ^.^ From what I am guessing in terms of design of what each room is supposed to be: Upstairs is the Bedroom, Left Room is the Bathroom, Right Room is the Office area, Back Room is the Kitchen/Eating Area and the Main Area is like a Living Room/Lounging Area. Hope I got these parts right since those were my first impression.

Overall... I do like your town and loved visiting it. But... there were some parts of your town that was kind of hard to navigate.
