I always see here and there people complaining about how other play, some scammers, extortionate prices and stealing...just pretty glum experiences. But where are the 'good player' stories?
I'd love to hear from you guys of a kind player that really stuck with you! Someone that made your heart feel full, someone that makes you think "ah, theres truly some gems in this community". Let's spread some positivity and love guys ♡
I honestly haven't traded or anything in NH yet so I dont have any aside from my amazing group of friends ;u;
We always tell each other when a villager is crafting a cool diy, if saharah has awesome stuff, or if turnip prices are good and will help each other out with finding bugs/fish.
It's just a fun nice group and I love them all so much
Oh I'll add mine too! Honestly I have mostly met only kind, respectful people, and even when I was close to having a bad experience someone on here warned me so I could protect the DIYs I was giving to people!
People who stick out in my mind...definitely a lovely user on here who gave me Stella for free! It took me so long to get the plot open and they were so so kind and patient throughout ♡
Even just those when I was letting people into my town for free to sell turnips or get recipes from a villager, they would give me hybrids, gold nuggets and even some wishlist clothing items! I truly love and appreciate all of their kindness
Someone who visited my island to get a DIY. Her character's name was Eowyn and mine is Mewyn so we laughed at the resemblance and talked Lord of the Rings for a sec, one of the nicest person I had on my island!
I also answered a Reddit post to exchange watering service about a week ago, ended up in a group chat with 5 other players. We spent like 3 hours going from one island to the other, chatting, watering flowers, visiting towns, shopping. Since then we visit each other almost every day and inform each other when we have some interesting things going on on our island.
I am currently collecting a bunch of bugs models because I have a certain idea in mind, and I need a LOT of these.
The ones im looking for can be actually really expensive (some sold for 25/30 nmt+).
I found a seller that had 3 kind of models, and I made my modest offer, thus he was reclutant.
My offer was actually a bit low and he was getting mooore and more in the meanwhile, but he asked me why i needed all these bugs stuff.
So I explained my idea and how i wanted to create this zone on my island, and he was so happy about it that he ignored all the other offers and sold me these items for a low price rather that getting billions from other.
He visited my island and was pretty pleased with it, and so I was!
Together with bugs models, I am also buying mush stuff, because I don't like TT. There's this sweet person that I met on disc that always find the time to craft me like 10 lamps, 10 parasols, all these stuff, without ripping me off. And yesterday I invited her on my island and she waaas so happyyy on how it was coming together, and said that all these mush stuff were for a good cause. I was sooo happy!
These may seem tiny things, but I always feel like a burden when asking ppl to craft me things (even if i pay) or sell me stuff for a price rather than another, so yeaah
OH AND ALSO
one last thing, i sold/gave away some stuff on this forum, and together with sending the dodo in pm, i always say that my shops are open and if ppl want to check, they can do this without problem. Even if I already said that they could do whatever they wanted, once on my island, almost everyone asked me again if they could check shops and such, idk
sometime there's ppl that go without asking and then there's those ppl that just klsdjflsdfs
this was ages ago and probably doesn’t count under this subforum but a few years back, i went on a club tortimer tour for the first time - i very solemnly did this bc anxiety lmao. anyways, i met this player named hannah and we did some tours together; after, she bought and gave me the ukulele! it’s a small thing but it’s stuck with me after all this time and i hope hannah’s doing well <33
as for new horizons, everybody that i’ve interacted with thus far has been very kind! :3
For like 3 consecutive weeks, I used to offer 600+ turnip prices to people to come visit for free on Mondays/Tuesdays. Throughout my tenure, I encountered some really cool people that even after I retired from turnips, they still message me sometimes to tell me if they have high selling prices of their own so I can visit. I think that's really nice of them to remember me and offer me visits. As a matter of fact.. Saikarie (OP) is one of those very kind people. People here can be very kind.
On another note, I've met two really nice people here that are now... my friends, actually. I didn't expect to make a single friend playing Animal Crossing because I'm a loner (I'm okay with that). These people run shops here and they always keep me in mind by letting me pick anything I need, and I find that endearing, though I don't really want anything. I find great joy in giving people things because I love seeing how happy it makes them tbh, and having people offer me things, something I never expected makes me extremely happy. These people have greatly enriched my experience playing this game, and I consider them to be a big driving force for my continued enjoyment of New Horizons.
Also, side note: You guys as a whole, are a very kind community in my experience. Very accomodating, understanding, and kind from what I've seen. Keep on being awesome, everyone.
Recently some people I traded with were apologetic about delays in getting to my island and gave me extra NMT. One threw in 10 gold pieces too. I didn’t care about any delays or anything of the sort, but they went out of their way anyways. It was really nice.
Other than that, I’ve just used multiplayer to explore islands with family or others and it’s just fun to hang out virtually. Always a happy time.
i like to craft things for free for ppl if they bring the needed materials to my island , n the amt of ppl who have just been so generous as to go thru my wishlist n drop me items i had on it without me asking for them is astounding frankly. like,,, its so sweet it rlly is . haven't had a bad experience in new horizons yet, but definitely some resoundingly good ones from very nice ppl
The other night I had some time and my friend let me come over to his southern island because I missed the blue Marlin last month. I told him I would probably spend the time digging clams cuz I only had like 20 minutes, and he went and gave me 20 baits just so I could fish
A person on Tumblr who offered to let people come buy from Leif. He was selling the last flower I need, but things fell through and I couldn't travel. The player messaged me and offered to buy the seed bags I wanted and I could pay him back when he dropped them off. I definitely appreciated the offer.
Last week I lost around one million bells due to timetravelling and not thinking enough about the consequences. The very kindest user on this forum was so kind and offered to help me out by giving me so much money back! She didn't have to do it but did it anyway, it made my whole week and I definitely won't forget!
Other positive encounters are some of the people that helped me water my flowers and were kind and gave me some hybrid flowers or diy recipes. I also have the highest respect and appreciation for all the people that are so humble and nice and let the gate open for hours to let people come to their island for Celeste/Redd/Leif or if they have high turnip prices and don't charge the biggest amount of NMTs and so on! There's definitely a ton of great people in the community!
I was AFK yesterday with my gates open offering folks here an NMT and watering can to come water my flowers. You know what happened? Not only did I return to an unharmed island, but each person only took one can and one NMT. That was 6 different people doing no harm, and only taking one of each item.
A while ago I had my dreamies in my signature and I said below it if anyone would like to trade these villagers let me know. A user messaged me saying that kidd was moving out and they gave me him for free! i thought it was so sweet
I was visiting someone's island for Sahara and the person before me leaves while I'm in mid conversation.
After the loading screen ends, Sahara makes an escape into the host's grand money tree orchards. Oh rip me.
I tell the host that the Sahara made a mad getaway and I don't want to accidentally shake the trees. Host was like, "let's push her out " Everything ends well.
I use TBT forums to trade and sell designs, and not any other site, and I have to say, the generosity of these forums is overwhelming!
I was letting people into my town for free the other day because Lief was selling hibiscuses, and it's kinda nice to have people to enjoy my island, and one of the visitors left me a 65,000 bell tip!
And just yesterday I sold a design for a flag to a user here and they not only gave me the full amount we had decided, but also they threw in some hybrid tulips which were lovely
Needless to say I really love the people here, I've not met such a lovely bunch before in a gaming community!
I've done a few trades here and there (on TBT). I think my most memorable visitor was the one who gave me a blue windflower. Just randomly planted one. I've actually grown to like it a lot and I'm now crossbreeding some of my own, but the one they planted is still in its spot.
So, so many nice people have given me amazing presents when I open my island to guests. My sweet friends on here who have given me DIYs, let me catalog items, and ordered things for me.
One that stands out recently though was a guy called “Toto” from “Africa” who came over to buy turnips. He gave me a bunch of cool stuff and we had a great conversation! Would love to hang out with him again, except I met him off turnip exchange and I have no way to find him again lol
