Technical Question

Ok so this is an oddball question: I have 2 switches and because I want to have both able to play at the same time (with my wife) I have purchased a physical copy to play on the other switch. Since I am eager to get the second island running I downloaded the digital copy (under my account) to the second switch and established my new island. Will I be able to switch to the physical version and access my newly established island?? (Do I delete the digital copy)?
Also do you need an “account” to play a physical game?

sadly its only one switch one island so even if h have the digital copy and physical copy on ur other switch its still going to be the same island

I think the save data gets stored on your switch so maybe yes you can? I never done this before so i am not sure, but i hope someone with more information about this can come and help.
