The other day, I noticed that Ron was struggling to finish her assignment, and her struggle serves as the inspiration for this thread.

A lot of us deal with the agony and pain and frustration of procrastination. I know that simply from experience -- it caused me to turn in incomplete homework assignments, BS homework assignments -- you get the picture. I almost failed AP English because of it. Those sleepless nights almost tore me apart.

Anyway, the reason I'm starting this thread is to help each of us get our procrastination under control. Now, how can this thread achieve this goal? It's simple.

This thread serves as a check-in (CI) type thing. Let's say that I have a summer reading assignment to do. Well, the idea is to break it down into smaller chunks, right? If your procrastination is as bad as mine, then the sheer thought of getting it done, let alone starting on it, probably scares you -- making it harder to complete. What I would do, in this case, is post what the task at hand is. As I go along, I would then edit the post with every little thing I've accomplished. If I stay committed to it, then the assignment should be complete.

In the future, I may get a chatbox or something to make this easier. But for now, I'll keep it here to see if it takes off. Thoughts?

This is a really good idea, actually. Being a procrastinator myself, I know how horrible the consequences can be...

Perhaps I can demonstrate the proper usage of the thread tomorrow, because I do have summer assignments that I need to complete.

For *censored.3.0*'s sake. First of all, whoever said TBT was becoming "The Blog Tree" was too right. Second, what you need is a calendar or a planner of some sort, not to make a post on here.

Ummm, I've tried that. If that was the case, I wouldn't even be dealing with it anymore -- everything would be just fine.

And ]my apologies for posting something that's supposed to be helpful to others. Please tell me when another post of mine is one towards "The Blog Tree."

This thread is going to get flamed and eventually get closed.

Being a procrastinator myself, I realize that if anyone tries to help me stop procrastinating I will keep putting it off, this thread will die, and it will go down in history as one of the thousands of threads that no one remembers on TBT.

So I hear....
Hurr hurr.

Ugh, I hate those videos. XD My boyfriend even hates them, lol. The only reason why I keep them up is because some people like them. >_>

Procrastinating is like hearing an alarm in the morning.

The more you put it off the harder it will be to do the right thing like get up.

Listen to Nike.

Just do it.

I find that doing all of my work at once is the best for me, because if I don't sit down and do it, I'll never get around to it, however once I start, I won't want to stop until it's done. Of course on bigger projects this may not apply, but I still like to get a lot done at once.

I'm glad my horrible work habits could be an inspiration. XD

But for serious, it's nice of you to make a thread where people can get through their procrastination block. =) I think actually laying it all in front of me would freak me out, though. u_u
