Let me tell you a story about what happened to me a few nights ago.

I was out hunting rainbow stags. My villagers love them and keep asking for them. I stop by my house for a break and Francine pops in! I’m very excited since she is the first villager I have best friend status with since I switched up my villagers. We are hanging out in my living room having a great time when she says she has to go.

As soon as she leaves I decided I have to go say hi to her - like I said, very excited about best friend status. It’s about 8pm and I’m still holding my net from hunting those rainbow stags. I’m sprinting through my town to Francine’s house, net flying in the wind knowing full well there could be tarantulas out. When I make it to her house I see that she and Chrissy are both right outside their doors but that’s all 8 have time for because a tarantula comes flying out from behind Francine and attacks me.

Two sisters were witness to this attack. They legit watched this spider attack me and watched me fall on the ground and neither had any reaction to this. This was the moment I realized these bunnies are “frenemies” and not to trust either of them!

I've only ever seen one tarantula since I started my town four or five years ago. It's kind of frustrating, haha.

I've only seen 2. First one bit me because I missed with the net and the second one ran into a rock and despawned before I could even get my net out ._.

I saw one the other day but I didn't have my net with me and I haven't seen another one since then TT

a good tip to make sure you never go without your tools: you can store items in your mail! never throw letters out, you can attach your tools to them and retrieve them whenever you like without filling up your inventory!

11-4 is prime time!! i was awake from 2:30am to 4am a few nights ago and saw two tarantulas during that period.

since then, i’ve seen 2 more. keep your net on you and walk carefully!! if they’re near a cliff, they will jump off.

Most of mine were found while doing tasks, watering flowers or fishing.
My casual town girl mayor caught 4 and let one circle around her feet. If you don't have a net in your hand they can't harm you. If they try to go into the river try moving back with the net. I've stopped some from jumping into the river or over a cliff.

Last night the new Boy mayor got a scorpion coupon challenge. Went to catch a fish and saw the back end of the scorpion. Turned around and caught it. Went to the island, donated items and found a tarantula near the event plaza. Caught and donated.

I've seen like 3 last year. 1 bit me, the other two disappeared into flowers or the river before I could catch them. ;v;
This year, none yet. I literally spent the last half hour looking, too ;v;

Yeah, I remember being up between about 1am and 3am and didn't see one at all and it was frustrating me ;-; Good luck in catching one! ^p^

I see tarantulas all the time and just caught my first one today, actually. Blathers was thrilled as I'm sure you can imagine. My tarantulas seem to hang out right by re-tail so they're really easy to come across.

I've never yet seen a scorpion though.
