tarantula advice

i recently posted about the tarantulas *scorpions too but i didnt post that* not spawning in my town and no one could help me because you cant go to anyone elses town *gate has to be closed* and they cant be traded. my town is FULL of flowers and trees everywhere so i thought maybe if i chopped a few of them down and moved some flowers *i put them on the beach* it would help. it DID. big time. now theyre everywhere! i just wanted to let you guys know!

Yep, that certainly helps indeed. I had way too much greenery in my town so I let go of some trees and moved flowers and they were a bit more frequent at least but still pretty rare.

i did catch a tarantula last night finally! three of them had spawned. i also saw one scorpion, but i think my paths are making the scorpion harder to spawn so now im taking down my path where i last saw it too. i saw the scorpion last night around 10pm. the tarantulas around 1-4am. they are pretty rare but i noticed that when you see the emperor butterfly the tarantulas either spawn with them or directly after *when you go into a building and come back out*. i think its on a loop system where you have to maybe catch a certain amount of bugs before they will spawn up?

well save and continue then wander around town until you see one, and if you dont, save and continue again! wash rinse repeat!!

Yeah, it's a pain how having a town full of paths and trees stops them from spawning.

Well, a pain until your museum is full. Then it doesn't really matter anymore to most.

Congrats on catching that tarantula. I noticed that they spawn in the same spots as the year before if the town remains the same way. All the PWP and houses are still in the same spot.

Someone found it easier to catch them when they changed the clock to evening when it was afternoon in RT. The poster wasn't tired and was able to find them faster. She caught both bugs for her side players in a short period of time.

Found fishing nearing the spawning spots helps. The tarantula will wait for you to catch the fish and than catch it.

I'd love to know how much space you need open for them to spawn, like how many squares, and how many you have open!! My town has NO open spaces currently and was planning to make some for those two bugs specifically over the summer.

Last summer I had to remove all my paths, trees, bushes and flowers to be able to catch a tarantula and scorpion. Before I did, they never spawned at all. Afterwords, I was catching them left and right. My town is back to normal now

for mine i opened up about 8 spaces where i thought they spawned at in each location. i had remembered where i first saw them both so i cleared out those areas. it didnt take much to get them to spawn. i now have the scorpion too! i also time traveled from afternoon to evening; but i made sure i talked my neighbors to death before i did it LOL

Before I removed flowers I updated my town at the dream suite. Once I was done I dreamt my town on my other 3DS so everything could go back in place.

It helps to remove some flowers for some opened spots. Placed them on the beach or in the side players saved mail.
The scorpion likes to try and hide in the red flowers. They also like to disappear in a stump or on top of the flower bed PWP.

If you have pathway tiles on the event plaza and train station remove them. They like to show up there.

Tip watch your villagers. If three villagers are standing still something is up. One night I had 3 Villagers standing near the bridge and they wouldn't move. Walked pass and the bug was waiting for me. One night Lolly ran pass me and I saw a scorpion.
The villagers can mention a tarantula or scorpion is near when you speak to them.

I don't know why, but I am still scared of them in the game. like I know the Villager will be fine but, something about them randomly chasing me scares me.
