Tamagotchi

one of the first forums I ever joined was a tamagotchi one - I was an avid collector when I was younger but ended up selling all of my collection a few years ago.

A few of my friends have inspired me to get back into looking after tamagotchis and I recently purchased a Tamagotchi Uni!

It’s so cute - I have found this one to be a little limited compared to other versions (there are only 3 games, shop doesn’t change daily & can only get one DIY a day). Bandai have just recently released some gorgeous shells for the V3 connections which I may be tempted to get in the future

I was wondering if there are any other tamagotchi enthusiasts here?

Ohhh I got SUPER into Tamagotchi this year! I bought one of the first gen re-releases at walmart and raised a Mametchi! His name was lil guy (I didn't have much of a name for them) They lived for 24 days before dying and I haven't restarted.

I also got some of the games like Tamagotchi on the Game boy and two of the Corner Shop games! I was mainly playing Corner Shop 2 when I found this baby driving an airplane. Like who let you do that

What I really want when it comes to main line Tamas, is the new Connections that just came out! I've always wanted a Connection but saw that they were expensive on the second hand market, so this re-release is perrfect for me! I don't have the money at the moment but I AM going to buy one of these one day! These colors are my favorites

I will take any design I can find but I like blue and I like glitter!

@RemMomori OMG I remember the corner shop game!! For some reason I have the dentist one engraved in my brain I really wish they would bring back tamatown - that was my childhood with the old v3s. I’m tempted to get one of the newer connections but I don’t love the shells that much. Japan got so lucky with their lotto one

I used to be super into it. I had a V4 (which I completely broke the screen by dropping it), a few V4.5s, a V5, and a V6. I also have a DVD of the Tamagotchi movie somewhere. I have 2 DS games and Wii game as well but I don't believe I spent enough time on those. Maybe I will again one day.
I can't really imagine me getting back into playing with a Tamagotchi now with all the responsibility and stress, unfortunately. Newer Tamagotchis also seem to be expensive unless you get one with less features such as the minis which are kinda boring to me. I also found out the buttons on my oldest V4.5s aren't responding anymore which is a bit heartbreaking as I had those since my teenage years. One of them still had the data from back then the last time I got it to work.
I seem to have recurring nightmares about trying to take care of Tamagotchis again but completely forgetting about them and then freaking out because they're dying. Maybe that's telling me not to.

I loved Tamagotchis I was always being sneaky and feeding them in school. Everyone was connecting them at lunch time and gifting gifts to each other.

I remember with the newer versions there was a website you could earn prizes and gifts then connect your tamagotchi to redeem.

Happy to see Tamagotchi related threads on the forums!! I was pretty invested in the coloured Tamas, the P's was my absolute favourite with the customizability, just took some effort with owning an IR phone and learning the file transferring. Although when the servers were active, the Meets/ON with the gene mixing I found the most enjoyable!

I kinda wish they kept the gene mixing with the Tamas after the ON, it's what kinda stirred me away from Tamagotchi at the time; I didn't find the Pix that fun and more so limiting.

In terms of shell design though.. the Sanrio Meets or Fantasy meets takes the cake for me

now that I'm an adult with money - I have obviously very wisely spent it on the sanrio uni collab w tamagotchi!!! the uk seems to be struggling w getting the monster and angel festival versions so i went w sanrio since it actually had a listing. apparently it's arriving in two more weeks i'm so excited hehe

I never had a real tomogatchi, but I have a Pocket Pikachu and it's pretty similar. I'm pretty forgetful so I'm bad at remembering to check on virtual pets. I do dig the aesthetic of tomogatchi though.

Considering I literally have my current buddy beside me right now, yes!

I was huge into the Connections as a kid (I started with the V2!) I recently got back into revisiting them thanks to the recent Connection re-releases as well as finding My original ones from childhood. I also recently picked up a couple I had missed out on as a child. The one I’m currently using (pictured above) is a V4 and is my favourite shell of all.

The newer coloured models are neat and I’m glad they are still making Tamagotchi today, but I’m personally sticking with the older ones. Something about those nostalgic black pixels and cute little animations are just so good.

I’ll share a picture of my collection later today if I remember!

I’ve never had a tamagotchi but I’ve had similar games that I’ve loved. I’m tempted to get one
