System transfer? Help again!

Hi guys! I hope I'm not posting in the wrong forum, sorry if I am!

So I got a new 2dsxl a few months ago but never did a system transfer from my old 3ds. I finally want to do the system transfer but before that I wanted to ask if my game progress will also be transferred to my new ds. Has anyone done a system transfer before and can help me out?
It was my first town and I'm scared that I'll lose all my data.

Update: so apparently I can't do the system transfer because my consoles are set to different regions, both EU though. Is there any other way to transfer my digital games over? Kinda lost right now and don't know what other options I have.

if you have homebrew, you can easily use a save manager to import your progress into your new game. i don't think i can give instructions on how to hack your 3ds, but there's many tutorials online that are accessible with a quick google search. hope this helps xx
