So, I just started a brand new town yesterday and planned out all my dreamies. However, there are villagers in Starfall that I think would fit much better in my new town, so I'm planning on switching those couple villagers for my other favorites I was planning on having. All I have to do is get the villagers in Starfall to move to my new town, right? And then I can just replace them with my other favorites in Starfall? That's it? Sorry, I just want to make sure, I'd hate to lose any of my villagers due to a stupid mistake. ;~;

If I am understanding this correctly, you are just trading the villagers to yourself basically so all should be good just make sure though that one of your towns has 9 villagers before trading them around because the villager will not move to your town even if you have the 10th leaving the next day as you will have to TT them out. Good luck!

That's correct. I did the same thing and it works fine, you just need patience and caution when TTing.

Maybe this is obvious but just in case since it wasn't mentioned, you do need to have two systems to do this. So long as you have two 3ds's then you'll be perfectly fine. I have done it multiple times where I didn't have space in my actual towns for a dreamie and I moved them into my cycle towns in my other system, got them into boxes in my cycle town, held them in boxes til I could make a space in my main towns. It works wonderfully since it can be very difficult to find dreamies at the exact time that you have a slot open in my experience, especially if its someone unpopular and quickly voided.
You definitely have to time it right where one is boxed up and then held in boxes while you make sure there is space in the other town. (The way I do it is by making full use of the notes feature to indicate what date the town needs to be on for the villager to still be in boxes. For safety sake I keep my day between 6 am and midnight, even though they should technically still be there in boxes between midnight and 6 am the next day I've had a friend who ran into issues with that, its easier to just play it safe and stick to the exact date)
It can be a pain, but at the same time it will be well worth it once you've got the villagers where you want them!
