Switch stopped reading Scoot’s amiibo? :O

I’m not sure what happened
His amiibo was working fine yesterday and this morning? Then I TT to invite him 2 more times so I could have him on my island and my switch stopped reading his amiibo? It’s reading all other amiibos perfectly! So I thought I might have broken Scoot’s amiibo somehow. So I just scanned Scoot several times on my 3DS in HHD to check and my 3DS reads it perfectly each time! How could this happen? :O Anyone else have this? It happened briefly to me with Kyle’s amiibo yesterday but after scanning Scoot instead for a day, which worked fine at the time, Kyle’s worked again.
So I scanned Celia who I’m not planning on having on my island to see if it would help like how Scoot did for Kyle but nope, still refuses Scoot.

Hi I am so sorry to hear about this! I had this happen once before when I was trying to scan ankha in for someone who wanted her in boxes for their island. It fixed itself somehow... make sure you are scanning it in the spot with the chip in the card (I know you probably already are) and make sure it isn't bent in anyway and if it is straighten it. I don't know how to fix it but your not alone in the problem, my switch has done it with a few of my amiibos before.

Did you maybe put the amiibo in a new case or cover? That's a strange problem, never had it happen to me. The only time it failed to read was if I removed the amiibo too quick, had 2 amiibos in the same sleeve, or didn't line it up right (I think the chip is closest to their head.)

Nope! I’ve just had in on a table, ready to use
I just checked the card in HHD again because it was making me nervous that the issue still hasn’t solved itself but once again HHD scanned Scoot perfectly

...now I’m giving him a new house in HHD because he deserves it after being called like 7 times

The only thing I can tell you is as soon as he wants to move out of my island I would be happy to give him to you, since I love Scoot but I have Sprocket too and only want one Jock.

Sometimes they are just stubborn. It took me ages to get Pekoe's card to scan the other day.

Oh really??? So I should just try over and over? Okay I'll do that!!!

Edit: may I have an estimate for what 'ages' means? I've scanned 20 times at least I think
