Switch Lite storage vs memory card storage?

So I filled up my Switch Lite album with screenshots before getting a memory card. Got one now, taken more screenshots, and they all appear to be in the same place on the console. If I try to transfer the screenshots to my laptop using memory card, will they all be on there (do screenshots I took before getting the memory card automatically get transferred onto it?) or will the screenshoots I took before inserting the memory card still remain on the switch?
