Suspicious trends on Nook Cranny forum?

A friend of mine used to trade in Celeste recipes. She only gives you DIYS you don't know until you have all of them. So he never learned the high demand ones (Nova Light, the chair, etc) so Celeste would always give him those DIYs for him to resell on Nookazon or Reddit.

I know, I do the same thing (I dont have the crescent moon chair learned). I'm talking about people who are able to offer the entire set (as in crafted items, which means they have the DIYs learned) AND all the DIYs at the same time. If someone is able to offer a whole set of DIYs OR all the items I'd think it's probably legit, but if they can offer both AND large amounts of pearls well.. that's pretty sketch to me.

it’s possible that people are just farming pearls - pascal gives you pearls sometimes so it’s possible that people are just tt’ing and getting the pearls from pascal ;w;

Definitely farming! I don’t yet have a full stack but if I’d spent more time I think I would! I’m more interested in farming gullivarrr but TTing is just too easy to find who you want for what items you’re looking for

The thing that disturbs me is its so cheap. If they're TTing to get pascal, then that still takes effort? I guess TTing isnt as much effort for other people as it is for me lol

There's also the use of trading through other ACNH trading platforms like Nookazon, r/ACtrade, ACNH forum. Not to mention the discords which are vastly more lively then its forum/website counterparts! With people who've accumulated so much NMTs, it's easier to gather Pearls through other players and then sell them for TBT

Offering your services to other places besides this one is a good way to turn a profit as well, besides grinding/farming

It's definitely suspicious and it seems like every response people have is the same so maybe it's just a lot of TT and grinding. Who knows. If there was another method, I doubt they would reveal it...

I know save editor is a thing so maybe some people utilize that.

I can see why you may think it's suspicious (I do too I mean it's only like day 2) but at the same time you can't prove anything. No one can prove that majority of nook miles tickets currently in circulation aren't duped. No one can prove that the lucky cat or whatever non reorder able item you received from a trade aren't duped or hacked because they're all exactly the same. In the end the only thing you can do is to just avoid the sellers who you "think" may be selling duped/hacked goods.

Been trading since the NL days so I've gone far past caring about if items are duped or hacked (it's been happening and will continue to do so). As long as it doesn't ruin my game I'm good. But I'd still give the sellers the benefit of the doubt if I were you. It really does hurt to be accused of hacking/duping when all people did is simply grind away 24/7. People do this! The majority of the world is still under lockdown. It's not too surprising imo

Can I ask a related question I’ve wondered about? You know the people who sell the non-Amiibo new villagers on eBay? They claim they’re not hacked and are found on mystery islands, but they sell these characters all day long. How does that work? Do they have several Switches and just go on tours for animals as almost a real job? Or, are they lying and it’s done by exploit? I just don’t get it.

There are exploits where you can duplicate items. So, you start with one royal crown and by manipulating the save system, you now have two.

I mean, I TT, but I don't have many... well, any, because the ones I've had I've used

But, I also don't dive CONSTANTLY. If someone were to just be diving and TTing in order to dive non-stop, as well as working to trade for pearls with others who're offering good deals, I could see it. But... that doesn't sound super fun to me and would take A LOT more dedication than I have

Besdies, I thought they fixed the duplication glitches, unless there's a new one? Or maybe they hacked the game or something? IDK. Either way, I don't think it's possible to hurt anyone else's game by trading with them, so it doesn't bother me much.
(but I also may be weird in that I wanna earn my own pearls and own recipes!)
