Smash Bros Super Smash Bros. for 3DS gets v.1.0.5 update

Tonight, Nintendo has once again updated Super Smash Bros. for 3DS, mainly for adding amiibo support for New 3DS models as well of the share mode. The latter lets you exchange Mii Fighters, Photos and Replay Data to the server for anyone in the world to download them. For owners of the older models of 3DS, this mode also let you post pictures to Miiverse even though you couldn't access it while the game is still running.

Just like the v.1.0.4 patch, your previous replays will be rendered unplayable once v.1.0.5 is installed, therefore implying that some adjustment to certain characters is done.

It looks like all of my epic replays will be erased AGAIN. I don't understand why replays from previous versions shouldn't work.

because the replays are literally just the game recreating what happened, not actual recordings

so if gameplay elements get changed, it can become impossible to recreate the replay depending on how the fight went and what characters were used


there's probably more to it, but this covers the basic reason why replays keep getting killed

Online -> Share -> pick picture -> upload to Miiverse -> make post -> you win
