Super easy to find a tier 1 dreamy, IMPOSSIBLE to find a tier 5, lol!

I have a Tier 5 dreamie: Stinky.

I'm lurking for him on a cycling thread, but they don't cycle often.

Today I FINALLY saw him being given away in the Villager Trading Plaza and got really excited. Then I saw that the thread was locked, because someone already adopted Stinky. Who knows when I'll see him again...

I really wish people would give Tier 5s a chance. People rarely offer Tier 5s, and it's so hard to find Stinky.

I think it's because since tier 1s are so popular, they make better profit. But when I make my cycling thread, I'll give people a chance to reserve villagers and wait a little bit before AV.

Phil! He is so hard to find! Just because their Tier 5 doesn't mean they are villagers no one wants! They just aren't well known

If he's the same person, which I honestly don't know but they spell it the same way, I see him streaming Pokemon all the time on Twitch so maybe he's just moved on from ACNL?

At any rate, I know y'all's pain. I searched for 3-6 months for Del (and even the adorable Roald!) and it was like pulling teeth finding ANYONE who even had them, let alone weren't auto-voiding them. And because they came up so rarely, it would be bitter bidding between myself and others who were looking for those two when they'd show up!

That's the thing with these forums. Everyone always wants the popular villagers and don't even give lower tiered villagers a chance. It almost seems like everyone is so quick to jump onto whatever is popular and immediately turns away from something different. has anyone else noticed this?

Yep. @__@ I rarely even see tier 2 or three villagers anymore, it's just tier one every day all the time. Not that those villagers are bad or anything (I have some tier one faves!), but I wish this forum had more variety.

Yes this is true. Cyclers often auto void the tier 5's so they can be super hard to find.

Wow! After reading some of the other replies, I feel pretty lucky to have found my tier 5 dreamie Renee as quickly as I did. (Then again, I campsite reset for nearly everyone else, sooo pick your poison? Ehhh.) She was my very last villager I had left to get at the point where I started looking for her in earnest. I would say it took about a week? I put my name on all the lurk lists I could find, left a comment every day in the looking for thread, wrote who I was looking for in my signature, and watched the forum like a hawk for any giveaways. I eventually did get her from a giveaway. A few days later I got a message from someone running one of the cycling threads I was lurking on, as well. (That thread had slipped through the cracks, when it came time to unlurk. Oops!)

But anyway, I guess what I'm saying is it takes a bit longer to find a tier 5 dreamie, sure, but it also takes very different tactics. Letting other people know that you're interested in a particular villager plays a much greater role, whereas with tier 1's it seems to be more about having that cold hard cash.

groucho was in my campsite yesterday lol. and what?..how in the world can someone even fall in love with beardo? anyway, if you want a T5, just lurk on some cycling threads and you'll get notified if the cycler has the desired villager in their town.

Most of my dreamies are tier five. I'm honestly relying on the campsite for Kitty, Sheldon, Caroline, Graham and Marcel,nand my irl friend for Paula. I've got almost no chance otherwise.
I strongly believe that I will never see a thread for Kitty, Graham, Sheldon or Marcel, and I almost never check cycling threads, which probably won't have them either.

I'm also a big fan of Dora, Lucy, Penelope and pretty much every uchi ever. I need some tier ones in my life, maybe then I'd have an easier time :<

I strongly believe that I will never see a thread for Kitty, Graham, Sheldon or Marcel, and I almost never check cycling threads, which probably won't have them either.

I've given all four of them away in the last 6 months... I think only Sheldon found a home. I try to check the last 2 or 3 days' worth of "Looking For" posts & see who's online before I post a thread for a villager. Tier 5's have it rough... I've been on the hunt for Caroline myself, she's either been voided too soon or picked up right before I see the thread.

I always try to get my lower tier dreamies first and get the upper tiers later. This usually saves me from making weird errors in adopting villagers. I currently have 3/5 of my low tiers x3 I only need Clay and Moe now.

Oh also, many people auto-void T4 and below because they can't make any TBT off of em. It's a selfish world we live in.

Hm well I agree it's kinda a pain, but I guess I understand why it's difficult._. If nobody wants a tier 5 villager there's no point in putting a thead up. But Bella is my favorite villager, and she was so hard to find when I had space in my town Dx I'm not sure if she's a tier 5 or not, but I definitely feel your pain!

the hardest villager to find for me was vesta, who is the second least popular villager in my town! but i was willing to pay the most for her because of this

I love Vesta!!! I had her in WW and I've loved her ever since. More people need to see how awesome she is!

I never auto void villagers, always try to find everyone homes and actually many tier 4 and 5 villagers have found homes . I've been pretty lazy with cycling but I know I currently have tier 1 - 5s in the town.

Well, that's what the Official Looking For Thread is for.
No need to spam, and the minimum posting allowance is every 2 hours.
Best to be extra proactive: let the world knows that you are seriously looking for that one villager.

Also, lurking & letting various cyclers know would be really helpful.
Offering to pay a fair amount to reserve definitely wouldn't hurt either.

I'd like to point out that sometimes, at least in my case,
villagers of ALL tiers are voided not because they are of a lower tier.
They are voided / not even listed, simply because I don't like them.

There is this peculiar notion that when you are a cycler,
you have to cater to everyone's demands.
Not only you have to revolve around someone else's schedule,
you have to spend your time chasing after them to beg them to take your villagers for free.
That's not what I would do, but I've seen that happening on a regular basis.

Back on topic.
With the issue of "impossible to find a Tier 5", I'd blame it on bad timing? ^^;;
Say, mogyay was desperately looking for Vesta some time ago. Not a single person has Vesta.
After they finally got her, I have 2 Vestas back to back.
There are several super lovely, not-as-popular villagers that I'd list for free adoptions whenever I have them,
but NO ONE seems to be interested in. Eunice is a shiny example of that.
