I prefer the beach. It's been a long time since I've gone swimming so I'm hoping to do that this summer. I generally don't go deeper than my waist cause you never know (and I'm not a great swimmer anyway). I'm a little picky when it comes to beaches. I've gone to some that have pointy shells and pebbles in the ocean, never again. D: It makes you appreciate soft beaches.

I don't mind pools but I dislike the smell of chlorine in my hair afterward.

this should really be multiple choice- i like swimming in anywhere but pools as i hate chlorine. last weekend we went camping- swam two laps of the lake and swam in the river a lot and in summer we go to the ocean so
also when you swim in open bodies of water you get to see things like fish and *****

and public pools have children in e.e

youre right- i shoulda made it multiple choice; one of my favorite swimming trips ever was in an abandoned quarry up in Vermont (would that technically make it a pond? i dunno...)

(why did the auto censor remove 'chips' from your post??)

kind of off topic but i once saw a floating turd in a pool. that was kind of Gross

i dunno, maybe it was a Baby Ruth bar, didja think of that?

In your tears!

In a pool is good too though

hey I don't cry that much!
do I?
now my feelings are hurt and im getting a little teary-eyed...

Seeing all these votes for people who own a pool makes me sad. We used to have an inground pool, but the previous owners didn't tend to it enough so it broke and we had to fill it in. We also got an outdoor pool... then got rid of it when our cat almost drown it. Pretty much have to drive to a public pool whenever I feel like swimming now.

Meh, I never really got into swimming.
-So many people have their own pools ehmergud-

in the lake/sea.. beaches in general i hate public bath houses/swimming pools here cause they are gross and nasty and there is always so ****ed up kid pooping in the water just cause their parents can't get their nose from their phones or just let em run loose.

aww there's no water park? haha c:
but yeah usually at a pool if anything cause the beaches in Cali are dirty bleh ~

At a pool. But I guess a private one is preferable. Anything but the beach, really.

The beach can get BENT.

the pool. the sea just feels unsafe to me. i dont wanna swim halfway and have a goddamn shark devour me.

the pool, preferrably my aunt's, just because i really hate the sand

I have my own pool that I swim in pretty much everyday when it gets warm enough, but I still enjoy going to the beach.

I'm surprised more people didn't vote for river. Maybe not many people live near them? I do and they're always packed in the summer.

Rivers are so much nicer than pools or the ocean. Ocean = super salty and sandy. Pools = chlorine.

Rivers are surrounded by trees (that provide shade). The water is constantly moving so you can tube down it. You can also have a rope swing tied off from a tree. It's really the best option where I live.
