This game can be so cruel at times. First it makes you really happy and than it slaps you in the face when you least expect it. I invited a camper a while ago and I was expecting it to move-in tomorrow. To my dismay I found his house planted straight next to my orchard. It only cost me 1 tree but there are at least 4 better pots for him to live...

I walked down with a disappointed face, when suddenly I hear a balloon coming. And not just any balloon... (hmm, yeh baby~)

Happy as I was I started scouting for fossils and the bell rock, which turned out to be ores today. Even though my exhibit room already is full new ores are always welcome. Especially silver ones. Happy days~!

Until one of my likeable villagers announced her idea of moving out. Don't know if I convinced her 100% yet. Animal Crossing. Why art thou so cruel with people's emotions?

yeah, so far i've lost 5 fruit trees due to villagers moving in. -_-

i've never seen 3 balloons like that before! i don't even have a slingshot yet -_-

never got a rock that gave ores yet.. -_- why do you like the silver ores best? are they more valuable?

i think this game is trying to mimic real life... just as in real life, friends come and go over time!

That's why I always keep a 9-stack of fruit for every tree just in case this happens.

When Gladys moved in, she took out 2 of my 3 Durian trees so I've made sure to keep the fruit more... just to be safe.

I have a basket of 9 of each fruit in storage because the first time I finally got some apples (my favorite fruit) from a TBT friend, Rory put his plot right on top of them the day I was going to be able to harvest the apples for the first time. I was so mad, I couldn't play for the rest of the day. I was so very happy when he finally moved out.

I'm pretty sure in this game, if you tell them once not to move, they don't move. That's how it's always worked for me. So, I think you are safe there. (but you may want to double check that. I could be wrong.)
I have a huge open area where theres really nothing but trees and flowers, yet my villagers choose to move into cramped areas. Maybe they like to be cosy?
As far as the trees, in my town I have different fruit trees scattered around my town just in case. I don't know if you have any interest in flowers, but I know some people also keep their hybrids right next to the existing houses or somewhere in storage when they know someone is going to be moving in.
Best of luck!

No, if you tell a villager to not move, they will ask to move again... eventually.

Molly has tried to move out twice by now and she is the only villager that I have a picture of. I know that if a villager has given you their picture, they will ask to move a bit sooner than normal because they feel like they have done all that they could for the town.

Not really. I have 4 of Kid Cat's pictures and he hasn't asked to move in months.

Yeah, I meant they won't ask to move for a little while. (or however long)

It's been really mixed for me as far as when they ask to move. I have a villager who moved in the most recently moving tomorrow (and never gave a picture), and I've had Frita and her picture for a while and she's never asked.

I've noticed this as well. The entire northwest region of my map is open. I don't even really have many trees or flowers. It is just a huge open field for the most part.. Yet whenever villagers move in they'll either plop their house directly around mine or in one of the "neighborhoods" where small handfuls of villagers have also situated themselves.

This game can be cruel. It gave me stupid Eloise from Streetpass, giving me 10 villagers, and Pietro was camping the next day and I lost my precious clown sheep )':

I always lose something when a villager moves in -_- Fang nearly made purple flowers extinct in my town.

Going to have to politely disagree. Villagers will ask to move out again. In one instance, I even had a villager move out even though I asked them to stay. Lost Fang that way.

ha ive got a huge open field as well, no flowers no trees, yet victoria decides to put her house literally as close as possible to my bridge. an area where ive got one space on each side of her house (in this weird peninsula shaped area with bridge at very top) to squeeze past to get to the bridge. I hate you victoria.

Also, want to point out that I've had villagers stay even though I want them to leave and have told them Goodbye on multiple occasions. OTL

Graham from the campsite. I already hate him before he even moved-in...
Thank god for the the existence of the reset-trick!!!

Apple moved in infront of the town hall, but it doesn't bother me. She is a dreamy and I still love her - whatever she does.
I really wish Wendy, Teddy or Deirdre asked to move.
Deirdre - for another member
Teddy - house 2 spaces away from mine
Wendy - i have 3 peppies!
