My personal one was I was battling online and I thought Greninja was water/fighting instead of water/dark. Even Dark Pulse didn't raise a red flag.

Same here! When Psychic didn't affect it I did a huge facepalm. What did use use against it? I used Delphox, because I thought it was fighting XD Then Lucario cleaned up that mistake.

I was conned whilst drunk to pick squirtle from professor sycamore instead of charmander... I was gutted the next day because of this but also because I broke my 3DS. When my new 3DS came I realised I didn't save! So then picked charmander.

Used Aegislashes ghost move against a fighting type thinking the mechanics for ghost and fighting types changed.

They haven't. Ghosts have always been able to hit Fighting. You must've been attacking a Normal/Fighting type.

Normal and Ghost can't hit each other. Ghost is immune to Fighting but not the other way round.

I guess the dumbest thing I've done was go through 7 badges with 3 Pokemon... I just recently added Blaziken to the team because I realized there weren't a lot of new fire Pokemon. Now I have 4 Pokemon and now I'm on the lookout for more Pokemon haha. :/

I was on the GTS and traded my Bulbasaur for an Eevee (thinking they were rare) so I could get a Sylveon.

I later discovered people were trading Sylveons for Bulbasaurs.
...and Eevee isn't rare at all.

On the plus side though, I have two Sylveons now.
