Hey everyone. I just recently started my Animal Crossing: New Horizons game yesterday. I’ve already managed to build the museum and Nook’s Cranny, but now I think I made a grave mistake. I got too over excited and invited 3 new villagers to my island, and now I have to make them all items for their homes. I worry because I only have a couple of rocks on my island, and my axe cuts down trees after 3 taps. I also don’t want to spend many Nook Miles because I’m worried I won’t get enough anymore after already completing many tasks. I think I’m overthinking a game that’s meant to be relaxing. I took a break and I’m ready to take things one by one, but iron nuggets are really discouraging me here.

What can I do? Should I just grin and bear it and spend my Nook Miles to go to a random island?

I felt exactly the same at the beginning!
Trust me, without spoiling things for you I can confirm you will make the nook Miles back!
Also if you need any spare materials I’d be more than happy to give you a couple stacks! I just don’t have any wood lol but can craft you an axe that will last abit longer at least! 😊

Hey don't stress too much! You will TOTALLY earn the nook miles back. Getting materials like wood, iron, etc. on mystery islands is great so you can spare your own trees and whatnot. And on here, there are tons of chances to visit other people's islands where you can buy better tools in their shops, then you don't have to muck around crafting the basic level ones all the time and they last way longer until your shop upgrades.

Also--on your own island, just tap the trees twice to get materials haha! As long as you're careful and just like... mildly harass your trees once a day you should be fine. But I prefer doing the mystery islands and just going full scorched earth myself, bwahahhaa!

Congrats on starting! Don't worry too much about getting all the resources at once, there's no rush or time limit to do things. Just take time to relax and have fun :). Also, the flimsy and stone axes don't chop down the trees, so if you're just looking to harvest wood, I would use those! If you need any materials just ask, I'd be more than willing to help!

congrats on starting! along with what everyone else has said, i think the rocks on nook mile islands have a higher % chance to give you iron (and clay) instead of stone when compared to the rocks on your own island

also when you're doing your daily rock-smacking make sure you dig holes behind you like this so you can hit the rock all 8 times without getting pushed back:

I reccomend going to Nook Mile Ticket islands to get iron/clay thats like the only thing I get from them, the rocks, trees will reset daily so you can make back the resources in no time, its just a small little investment! Try digging two holes behind you so you can get all the items from the rock when you hit it too if you don't already know about this method!

In addition to what everyone else said, the three homes are part of the story, there's no way around them and you didn't mess up by inviting three villagers. If you hadn't, the game would have given you three random ones.

Without spoilers i can craft you some higher durability tools so you can go island hopping more efficiently :3 i would offer to give u some nook miles tickets too but i think that will just take away your enjoyment for the game! You will definitely make the miles back so dont worry and just go for it! Let me know if u want the better tools!

I'd recommend crafting the "stone axe" so you can hit trees 3 times a day without chopping them down!
