Streetpass weekend issue

My home nintendo zone won't relay anything else but my passes from my 2 systems, is the event not working yet?

Funny, I actually got one already about two days ago.... I went to LA though so don't know, maybe in some areas for now?

I haven't had any problems with Nintendo Zones for a while now. However, I went out for StreetPasses this morning, and 2 Nintendo Zones were down completely, and the third just gave me 3 streetpasses from the same 3 people I streetpass daily at that Nintendo Zone.

I drove around town today to my streetpass spots and while I got some new people, they were all from California.

Apparently it broke the relays so that you had to have the latest update in order to StreetPass. Or something. The Home Relays were supposedly broken with the latest one as I've seen people report that it doesn't work.

I don't understand this, I'm still only getting myself, so are none of the relays set to the special streetpass weekend yet?

I never get any street passes anywhere, this weekend was my only chance...
And I can't do next weekend if they switch it to that. Please fix it nintendo.

It's supposed to be, but Nintendo could be having technical issues. Just keep trying this weekend, I'm sure you'll find some!

Unfortunately for me, today was the only chance I had to visit any Nintendo Zones. Even if the problem is fixed for the rest of the weekend, I'll end up missing out anyway.

My mother is going on a trip next weekend, if they switch it to next weekend I will miss out.
I went to an NZ last night. It gave me 2 tags from my second system and 1 tag from my cousin who had visited there recently.
No national streetpass yet. Please fix this nintendo.

It's working for me now! Drove around town to all the Starbucks and got tons of new states in America, as well as streetpasses from the Netherlands and Canada.

Did you go inside the McDonald's? There's a McDonald's near my house that's a relay, and I always have to go inside to get my streetpasses.

The update apparently killed the old relay system but there are workarounds for Homepass -- if you use the attwifi SSID, you now have to turn off all encryption and leave it open, no password or it won't work. But a lot of people switched away from that.

Mostly, people have switched a new SSID ....which I don't recall but if you google for the GBATemp thread they have all the info you need there. The same MAC addresses work, you just need to switch the SSID. It seems to work slightly differently but it works just fine.

As far as I know real world relays are all still down, I haven't gotten any streetpasses from them since the update.

I expect it depends on where you live -- our Nintendo Zones have always been terrible here. No BestBuys ever worked, Starbucks stopped working last year sometime, McDonalds was unpredictable. But I know people who live elsewhere and had tons of working Zones. You must have much better locations!

Awesome! I noticed that they were still up this morning when I was finally able to get to a Nintendo Zone. So far, I have been able to pick up 34 streetpasses, and nearly completed the US region map. I'm also only 2 pieces away from completing my final puzzle thanks to this.
