Ok so every time i go down the town, as soon as i get off the bus I have a green light. I must pass a few nintendo zones on my way to town whenever I go but I dont check the plaza and notifications until I get on the bus back. There are a few McDonalds in my town which all have Nintendo Zones and they each record the last 6 tags.
What are your opinions of them? I like them because it means you can get ghost data and HHS houses but it means you are missing out on potential streetpasses, especially when the plaza only holds 10 tags at a time.
Maybe Nintendo should raise the amount of streetpasses from 10 to higher in 1 session.
There may already be a thread on this on Belltree but I couldnt find it.

It's convenient but I don't get why it's limited to 6, it can't take up THAT much data can it?

I'm not sure what you mean, they are still streetpasses from people who have hit those relays in the last half hour or so. There's no difference to your games or 3DS between a relay streetpass and a physical streetpass. If you are hoping to streetpass someone you see in person, you can still do that too -- the relays cannot fill all 10 spots in your plaza. (Relays will give you 6 passes, then 3 -- the 10th spot has to be filled be a streetpass you get in person).

I would think most people are happy to get streetpasses and can often only get them from the relay.

That's not true. There have been lots of times I've filled up all ten spots from hitting two relay stations, with no in-person StreetPasses.

I was actually going to come back to say that today that happened to me! I got all 10 after, I think, 3 relays. I was surprised, usually it's stuck at 9 until I SP someone locally. So it's not consistent.

Actually, that 10 StreetPass limit is only for StreetPass Plaza, not for all games.
Other games like in Kid Icarus and Pokemon, you can get as much as 100 StreetPasses (more or less) until the limit maxes out. I'm not sure of the limit for Animal Crossing, but I assume it's how much the Showcase plaza holds.

Yeah, I was specifically thinking about the Plaza, not individual games, good catch. Animal Crossing maxes out at 20 then stops picking them up; most games seems to be 10 (except things like Pokemon XY which is 99 or 100, can't remember which). For ACNL, in a situation like a convention we've learned that all you have to do is load the game, step outside your house, save and quit. All 20 passes will get added to your plaza and the count will start over again.

I feel like the relay stations where I live are broken. I'll have to stand outside of Starbucks for maybe 10 to 15 minutes just for it to work. I usually get stares.

Very few of ours work (although there are new ones at Home Depot I haven't tried). None of the mcDonald's or BestBuy relays work ever.
