Well, not that I think fighting games beyond Smash Bros. (Many a purist would contest this but nuts to the exclusionists.) are popular around here, but Street Fighter has been seeing continuing surges in popularity.

Ultra Street Fighter IV has had many a tournament going on this year after Capcom put up a whole 500,000 dollars up to make many sponsored tournaments have a large pot bonus for the players who enter and make it far. So high-level play has been very active. But the real deal recently has been the announcement of Street Fighter V, which is scheduled to be released Spring 2016. It's had a single beta on PS4 so far and it's been announced that the game will release with 16 characters, 12 returning and 4 brand new ones.

Personally, I'm very excited for the upcoming game. If anyone else likes SF and wants to discuss it or even just wants to ask further details on the game or announced characters, feel free to ask!

Well, if the fact that they rerelease these games to heck and back bothers you then you're in luck. SFV will be the definitive version, no need to buy an updated rerelease two years down the line. They probably won't be doing any price drops or sales for a while though.

I haven't played a street fighter game in a long time. I am really hype up for the new street fighter game though I just hope it comes out on PC as well c.c.. Cause I am saving up money on getting a decent laptop to play it on. So hope it comes out to the PC since I am more of a PC gamer then a console one.

It's already been verified that SFV will be coming to PC and PS4, and will also be cross-compatible for online play. There will be a beta for PC pre-purchasers to stress test things once more like already happened once for PS4.

I'm a huge fan of SFII and SFIII. I don't like what Capcom has done with SFIV visually - true spritebased 2D-graphics would have been better imo. From what little I have played of SFIV it seems like a solid fighter. Just not as good as SFII and SFIII.

Not to thrilled about SFV either - it looks just like SFIV.

I disagree, V looks way better animated and the character models apart from the hair on some characters are amazing. The game play also looks way more fun. The V-skill can potentially allow more uniqueness between the characters..like R.Mika getting an assist, that's not a SF thing lol, but for now a lot of them aren't dramatically different. I do like the direction they are going with SFV. I didn't mind IV tho, it wasn't the nicest looking game, but it was kind of unique for its time tbh.

I never played II, but III was omg level of pretty and I loved the gameplay despite how difficult it was on a pad lol.

You guys are gonna hate me for this, but my first was Super Street Fighter IV. Doughnut worry, I went back and played alpha 3 and III. SFIV is easily in my top 5 games. V looks phenomenal. Can't wait

Street Fighter's fun.

Especially the Alpha series and good ol Street Fighter 2, as those games i played the most when it comes to Street Fighter.

Not sure if Im gonna get SFV, but it'll be neat to see.

We should have a tournament for those of you who will get it for the PC cause sadly I don't have a ps4 at the moment v.v.. So hope we can play against each other ti see who is a better fighter.

Also this is not Street Fighter 5 it is Street Fighter Alpha 4 XD...
