I just noticed that I haven't played New Leaf in a month. (Blame Fire Emblem) But I'm wondering if this trick would work.

1. Remove the SD card/Game cartridge and go into the system settings to change it back a month.
2. After that, exit and turn off the 3DS.
3. Put the Game Cartridge/SD card back in.
4. Start up the game.

So what would happen?

Why would you need to do that? Just start back at the days you left off.

Don't go through all that effort - when you start up the game, just change the date back to the last time you played through Isabelle and go from there. But that would work, probably.

Even if you wanted to use the 3DS settings, you wouldn't have to remove the SD card/cartridge or even power it off. When you change the time/date and exit out of settings, it automatically restarts the system.
