So obviously different coloured flowers of the same type can breed into eachothers genetics and affect chance of breeding hybrids etc. My question is, can flowers of one species influence the likelihood of breeding hybrids/any flowers from a different species? Eg could having yellow cosmos next to red and white tulips make it more likely to breed an orange cosmo? I imagine the answer is no but never thought to find out! Thanks!
