Thanks! Thought I'd read that they can, but maybe it's a lot rarer in this game or I'm wrong? May start looking to get them off others then!

You have to trade for the rest of the fruits, I believe. Mystery islands can only give one other type of fruit.

A recently moved in villager gave me a peach once (my native is pears) but that's my sister fruit so idk. I can bring over some cherries & oranges if you like.
