@Tom Very true but him being a retired staff member won't make him any less cool.

I think it was mino that suggested/said it first, mods need to be active at certain times, such as when other mods are asleep/not able to be active.
spread out over the country/world, or perpetually nocturnal, so that the "hxc trolls xDDD" don't have as much of a window of opportunity.
still, one doesn't need to be on at all times, and there doesn't need to be twelve dozen mods running around locking everything, cuz that's a no good for the business.
this thread, however, should be locked. cuz that's a good for tha business.

So as I said before, you've got your opinion, and I've got mine.
Yeah, some mods don't pull their weight.
Still not fair. They've earned their spots as staff members. They've been here a while - longer than most of us - and we can't just revoke their powers because they haven't been too active in the past year.Chain said:Whynot contact the inactive staff first before doing any serious actions and if they don't reply within a week or say they don't want the job anymore then feel free to remove their powers.
Yeah, but isn't it a little unfair to award mod spots to members just because they've been here the longest?Bacon Boy said:Still not fair. They've earned their spots as staff members. No, I mean the mods that have already been here (that were mods before TBT boomed) shouldn't lose their spot just because they haven't been inactive for a year or so.beehdaubs said:Yeah, but isn't it a little unfair to award mod spots to members just because they've been here the longest?Bacon Boy said:Still not fair. Not that we need new mods, of course. Just because some guy made several posts with porn in it doesn't mean we're being attacked.
Well, who do you have in mind, Pally?Pally said::r
Kay dudes. The mods were good at the time, but clearly they've gotten lives and stopped being active. I'm not saying they suck at being mod, just it might be better if we appoint active members as mods. (No not just any active members) People who would actually be good for the job.

A lot of the mods were much more active when they were modded. When I became a mod I posted a lot almost every day. But over time you know less and less people on the forum, there are less and less interesting topics, etc. But that does not mean a mod that doesn't post a lot is not doing their job. A lot of what the staff does is "behind the scenes". So if the staff did their job perfectly (all spam, bots, etc. gone in a second) you'd never know the staff was doing their job so well. But the forum notices every single time a mod is not on and a spam/troll thread is around for half an hour or an hour.Pally said:There are some mods who are just fine. But there are a lot of inactive mods who have like even barely made a post this year. I don't see what the point is of them being mod then.
Also, I'm not saying the most active members should be mod. No the ones who are fit for the job.
