Spyro the Dragon is back! Spyro Reignited Trilogy got officially announced.

Like Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy, Spyro Reignited Trilogy is a game which consists
remakes of the original three games, Spyro the Dragon, Spyro 2: Ripto's Rage! and Spyro:
Year of the Dragon. The game comes out in September 2018 for the Playstation 4 and
Xbox One. Right now, there is no confirmation that it will come to the Switch too, but
since Crash also comes out for the Switch now, the chances are good that Sypro will
too.

And, what do you think? Are you excited for the game or not so?

I've never played a spyro game but they look pretty fun. The 90s are officially back people

If it comes to the switch, I'll definitely consider picking it up. Already getting Crash for Switch in July

I highly doubt it'll be bad. They brought back a good majority of the original voice actors and are using the same soundtracks, just tweaked a little to not sound as old lol. The only big difference is the graphics and I don't see how they can f that up

I still have the original trilogy and can play them on a PS2, but I kind of want to get the remake. Is that bad? Those games are so fun.

Not really hyped for it but Spyro was my favourite thing ever. It's probably going to be pretty great, but possibly only mediocre.

I'm really hyped. Year of the Dragon is still on my list of all time favourite games. I wasn't a big fan of anything after the original trilogy, but I really like the look of this so far, and I actually have high hopes. I do hope it's released for switch eventually though.

Yes, Year of the Dragon was one of my faves too. I do loves the Season games and Attack of the Rhynocs for GBA though, after that it went downhill pretty bad.

Shame it's not for 3DS too, but I can hope for PC though or I'll just go buy a PS1 and the games.

I've been holding off posting here because it's going to turn into a long wall of text. Spyro was the very first video game I ever played. I remember getting a PS1 for Christmas back when I was so young and playing Spyro that morning. It's not just a nostalgia trip for me, but it's what kicked off my love for video games. The original trilogy was great, and then I loved A Hero's Tail and Shadow Legacy, but everything else was bleh. I've been waiting for a very long time for a Spyro remaster (I flipped out then they released the PS1 classics on the PlayStation Store), and I've been following the rumors for the last year or so about a Spyro remaster and I'm happy it's finally happening!

I've been on the Spyro reddit a lot before and after the announcement, and I've seen a lot of complaints about the designs, the sky boxes and the music. Personally I'm not that bothered. The originals exist, if I wanted a carbon copy of the original titles I would just play those instead. I'm really happy with how this remaster looks and sounds and I can't want to get my hands on it. The changes look really nice and I'm happy to see this fresh new take on the game that got me into video games. Can't wait to see more about the game (especially how Ripto's Rage and Year of the Dragon look), and for it to release in September. I'm picking the game up on PS4, though I probably won't play it for a while, and I'm positive this game will release for the Switch, too, and then I'll buy another copy.

It's also nice to have the triology all in one because these games are way too easy to beat in adulthood, it's nice to have 3 games in 1 so it feels like there's more to do. I remember the games taking a good while to beat when I was a kid and it felt like an accomplishment when I did. Now I can 100% the first game in a few hours.

All 3 of these games were awesome. I could never get into any that came after them though, playing it on GBA just was not the same.

well, Spyro: Year of the Dragon is my second favorite game of all time, only behind Tomb Raider 3..
I played the hell out of spyro 2 and 3, especially 3, so much nostalgia! when the first spyro came out I was 9, now I'm 29!
I remember when I was a kid I used to imagine what the games would look like if they had pixar level graphics but I never expected that I'd be alive to see it happen lmao I'm definitely dying to get my hands on this, I can't freaking wait. also I have faith that Toys for Bob will deliver since they worked on the decent/positively received skylander games, I played a few and I quite liked things like the graphics, level design and controls so I believe they are a better fit for this than what we were expecting before (Vicarious Visions)
now if you'll excuse me, I'll go play the classic trilogy again (on emulator)..

I really hope it's on the Switch, but I'll prob end up getting it on the PS4 cause my mom really wants to play it too.

I see a whole lot of new stuff every week. Though i'm getting tired of only seeing Spyro 1 stuff. I'm ready to see Spyro 2 stuff, Spyro 3 can wait.
