Welp..

It's Sonic 06 V2.
That's all I have to say for it.

The 3DS version is...meh, better than the console version, but it's not that good.

Highly disappointed in this game. I agree with sp19047, it's the new Sonic '06.

It was rushed and they didn't send out review copies. I bet they were ashamed of how it came out. The textures and physics remind me of a PS2 game, more specifically, a Jak & Daxteresque game. If Rise of Lyric came out in 2004, it would've been a great game, but it's laughable this didn't take advantage of the Wii U graphics at all. I'm embarrassed personally because I've been a Sonic fan all my life. After Generations and Lost World, I thought they were finally learning from their mistakes, but I guess not. I knew it would be terrible though when I saw the unnecessary bandages and Knuckles being on steroids.

Hopefully the next game will be good.

Sonic Team has been working on it since Generations, so it should be good....right?

I've heard that this game is bad. I also read somewhere that Sega is so not confident in this game that they don't want any reviews for it

if that's legit, then that's amazingly hilarious

"plz no bully" - Sega

"lyl, nope" - internet
It was also cuz of the glitches

"However, as evidenced by IGN, Sega didn't send advance copies of the Wii U and 3DS versions of the game to the press for review. Judging by reports of "Sonic Boom" for the Wii U featuring glitches galore, that may be the reason why Sega hesitated in sending review copies to the press."

wow, its like they never heard of the Streisand effect

I don't know who this is more embarrassing for honestly, Sega or the WiiU itself. How on Earth can this type of thing happen anymore to such a series, heck I dunno how Sonic 06 was allowed to happen, it's been around for so long you'd think such things wouldn't fail so hard. And the WiiU, this feels like it hurts it's image more. Why can't the damn thing catch a break when it comes to stuff like this. Sonic comes to WiiU & 3DS to feel pain.
So is this game just screwed? They can't patch it that much to make it worth while I'm assuming. That bums me out because it seems like we should just put Sonic on the shelf for good. It's going to be awkward when that Sonic Amiibo only works with broken poorly rated games except Smash Bros x_x

lol i didnt think Sonic Generations was so terrible. There was some iffy moments but I'd give it a 7.5/10 if not more if I wanted to replay it

They need to come out with Sonic Adventure 3. That would be like the revitalizing of Sonic Team.

I never tried Rise of Lyric but from what I've seen, it doesn't seem to be a bad video game. Sonic the Hedgehog (2006) is worse than that, because it's much more frustrating thanks to the difficulty significantly randomly spiking up and down, whereas Sonic Boom: Rise of Lyric is usually on the very easy side until the very end of the game. This is mostly attributed to the fact of losing a life always meant almost zero consequences ? la LEGO video game, even though the final level does suddenly gets harder just for the sake of being a final level. Though, you may still have to restart an entire level at least once during the playthrough due of clipping through something for no reason.

It's safe to say that Sonic Boom: Rise of Lyric is just an average and boring game for the more seasoned gamers. Children and fans of the TV show of the same name may get some enjoyment out of it. Yes, people seem to forget that both Rise of Lyric and Shattered Crystal are tie-ins for the actual TV show, so the problem with licensed games is a natural occurrence in this case. Though, I did heard that the TV show is better than those two games.

The YouTube video review of the game does a good job reviewing the game in a more fairly manner for it really is.

The Wii U Sonic Boom looks like Sonic 06's lost cousin. Sonic Boom 3DS I can't really judge, because I haven't seen much of it. The cartoon better at least be good...

The 3DS version is more or less, meh.
Better than the Wii U version, but not by much.

The Cartoon's good though.
