Update:
Hey guys! Update on the situation- I've tried a few different things and unfortunately it seems like you cannot place paths around villager houses on the beach, like you can when they are on the grass. If they move in with a path in front of their house, you cannot erase it, and if they move in with no path, you cannot add a path. Super strange, and really sad because it foiled my plans, but I'm glad I figured this out, hopefully I can save you guys time and money in the future with this info!

Original Post:
So yesterday I asked Tom Nook to move a villager onto my beach, and there were QR code paths around the plot/underneath the plot. Today her house was officially "moved," but when I went to erase the paths around her house, the ones directly in front of her house/stairs would not erase! I tried scooting it away with Y, then going into the island design app and scraping it away with the grass. Neither worked, nor could I put a path on top of it. I dont know what to do, and I'm really frustrated and sad that I would have to spend more time and money to move her house again just to erase the qr paths. Has this happened to anyone else? Is there anything I can do?

Please help if you can!!

PIcture: its the four tiles in front of Floras house! D:

Also- clean up services did not work :(

Strange. I had moved someone's house onto a path from the designer app, but not a custom path. Seemed to remove those fine, may be a new glitch?

As far as trying to remedy it, unfortunately my only idea is to move the house again and see if you can remove the paths.

That is weird. Especially since I thought QR codes and paths were automatically removed from the location you put a house onto. If you have the Island Designer app, see if you can use the grass pattern on the QR code to remove it. I don't know if it'll work, but I hope it does.

i've had this issue before! i put a design down so i'd know where to stand when i placed where i wanted coco's house to go, and i could never erase the design afterwards (even once her actual house was there, not just the empty plot). the only way i was able to get rid of the design was to move coco's house. i didn't end up moving her back to the same spot, but if you want to do that, it'll unfortunately be a 100k, three day project :c

That's definitely weird because every time I move a house it removes the path underneath it, whether its from the designer app, a custom path, or a custom design displayed on the ground. The only solution I can think of is to move the house again but yeah that would waste time and bells =/

Does construction cleanup remove patterns on the ground? You might try that. I never used the clean up option, so I don't know. But it seems like the kind of thing it might do.

Try placing/overwriting it with a different custom design on top. Erase the custom path with your foot (Y), then try to use the grass path to erase it.

Can you post pictures? Sounds like you have a QR path on one of the immutable blocks.
Here is a picture. Please excuse my weird outfit and the surrounding area, its under construction lmao
but yeah the part that won't erase are the 4 tiles in front of floras house

I never thought of that, I will try it and tell you what happens! Great idea, thank you

yes, I did both, neither worked!

I had this happened as well, I think it may have something to do with the beach, as mine was on the beach too. Only way I could fix it was moving the house again. Might be your only option.

Yea, as I feared some of those blocks are immutable when they're that close to a house and it seems that the game didn't correctly clear them upon plot placement. Until you move the home, there is no way to erase that. To determine which blocks are immutable, go another house and attempt to dig. You'll notice a pattern of which ones are non-modifiable except by pathing tools. Well, you should technically be able to erase this path, but since the game didn't reset the block state upon house placement, it thinks you shouldn't be able to modify them. That's a lame bug for sure.

haha dang that sucks :(

ok, so the only way to remove the path/add a path would be to move the house, then move it back. but my next question is- if I move the house, erase all the tiles surrounding where the house was, and move the house back to this place, will I be able to place/remove the paths around the house as usual? kind of a retorical question since I dont expect you to know the answer, but I'm gonna try this out today and I can post my findings. I don't like to TT but I might actually TT now in this particular sucky situation 😪

I had the same issue with a bridge I built. You have to surround the area with the same path, then you’ll be able to erase it like normal ^^

Weird, I'm sorry that happened to you :(
Audie's house is on the beach on my island, and it didn't let me place any paths in front (where you have your paths!) so it must have to do with that.
I would move the house, erase it, then move it back... expensive, unfortunately, there are so many glitches in this game!

Did you try overlaying a different path with the Island Designer or the Custom Designs app? You cannot place paths on the sand with Island Designer, you can only display them through "displaying them on the ground" with Custom Design.

Aw, seems like my tactic won’t work ☹️ So sorry! I guess it only works for the grassy terrain
